Actually, the Hugo is state of the art. Its designer is active on this site. You should read about it before dismissing it as bling. And you really shouldn't call people Audio Ignorants while spewing ignorant comments yourself.

This is pretty much what's wrong with Head-Fi today. No, you haven't heard it, but you don't like the way it looks so whether it sounds good or not is irrelevant.   I agree it is a silly looking piece of kit. But I've heard it in non-meet conditions, and I can attest that the sound is pretty...

    So, have either of you actually heard the Hugo?

I plan to attend and won't need any space..just bringing me.

Vote for East Bay, Sundays are best but Saturday could work, too.

The lack of commentary from new owners gives me pause. Any body else have comments for good or ill regarding this DAC?

Got My Taboo MKIII. I've only spent a few hours with it, so these impressions are very preliminary. Source is a CEntrance DACmini and a Thinkpad notebook running J-River Media Center.    LCD-2s using a 4-pin balanced Q-Audio cable. This amp really wakes the LCD-2s up versus the DACmini's...

My Taboo has shipped. Should arrive early next week, but work travel will prevent me from hearing it right away. Damned work, getting in the way of the important things in life like new gear.
