To day I noticed that I had some noise ("crck" like) when I used my amp. I found out that the noise was caused by the uDac-2. I can also hear a tone ("peeeep" noise) from the uDac itself now. Has anyone else had this problem?

I can hear a tone with ATH-M50 but not with DT770 (250 ohm) or DT990 (600 ohm).   I will test a bit more and give a bit more detailed information about my setup when I get some time.

Is imbalance a normal problem with the udac 2? If I have the volumeknob at 9 o'clock or lower, I will get higher sound to the left. I guess this is common, but I just wanted to check. 

Is Asus Xonar Essence STX much better then cheaper cards? Is it much difference if I'm mainly after Dolby headhpone?

Yeah, I will get the MK III if I can afford it, but now I know that MK II will be good enough if I can't :)   Thanks guys.

I need an amp for my DT990 600 ohm (well, I'm waiting for them to arrive). Would the MK2 be a good choice? Or is the MK3 a must have? I can't use that much money so I'm trying to get something used.   I'm a noob so this will be my first tube amp.  

Is it a big difference between uDAC and uDAC-2 if I'm going to use it as a DAC? I got DT990 600 ohm.
