Noise on Beyer MMX 300 Headset mic

Got these back from being serviced under warranty.  Just noticed after someone in-game commenting that my mic had some low hum line noise on it. Wanting to circumvent waiting for through a 3 month turnaround for servicing them, again, I popped open the ear with microphone mounted and took a...

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum

What do I recommend to friends considering Dr Dre Beats Pro? One alternative I've seen given after a bit of searching here is the Denon AH-D2000 for better overall accuracy including more extended bass. What other models should be considered? I have a Beyerdynamic MMX300, which I think is...

    Modding the Sennheiser pc350 headset

Has anyone noticed highs are a bit more articulate on the left side after the mod?  Right side seems more boomy, by nature, after the mod and I find myself continually adding more filler on that side.  Might this be due to the difference in the new chambers designed after opening them up?

    Modding the Sennheiser pc350 headset

Ok, thus far I've put 5 holes on each side and some cotton after they sounded a bit boomy/muddy.  I think I may take some of the cotton back out...or should I drill more holes? These are going back in the closet once I get my repaired MMX300 back, but until then it's fun modding them for...

    Modding the Sennheiser pc350 headset

IT IS TIME.     My MMX300 must be sent in for warranty repair.  My Senn PC350 just doesn't sound as good.  Maybe they could use a little....BASS MODDING.

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Someone get this guy the Ultimate Ears super.fi 5 Pro!   Alas, I've gone through a few of those as though they sound great, their build barely lasted beyond a year.  Even with RMA'd warranties, at around $200 a pop, they're an expensive habit.   Add to that they're harder to find since...

Head-Direct RE0 or RE-ZERO w/o amping? Formerly used UE super.fi 5 Pro. My PMP is the Cowon S9.

I'd rather not need an additional amp.  RE0 don't necessarily need an amp, but benefit from one while RE-ZERO has a low impedance (16ohm) comparable to my broken UE super.fi 5 pro (dual balanced armature).  I'd buy another of UEsf5p if I didn't expect them to break in less than a year, I'm a bit...

My UE Super.fi 5 Pro break all too easily.

Thanks for the tips. Money shortage means I'll probably go with the Head-Direct, for now since it's only $79. Definitely interested in the Westone 2. Warranty aside, I want something with actual build quality. I was pretty impressed with the Westone cable I got for the UEs. Too bad the UEs...

Just noticed there are many reviews on Amazon by customers with similar experiences. :/

My UE Super.fi 5 Pro break all too easily.

I've purchased the Ultimate Ears super.fi Pro IEMs twice, now. Each time I had to RMA them and get a warranty replacement. The first purchase had a 2 year warranty, I believe. Now they carry a 1 year warranty. I love their sound, when they work, but what gives on the short life span? It...

Beyerdynamic MMX 300 or Sennheiser PC350

The Y yoke on each side is common if you look at Beyerdynamic's high end product line. No comment from me on its durability since the MMX is the first Beyer headphone I've owned. Whenever I removed them I often grip them by the cups to pull them off my head. The knotched/geared boom mic...

    Modding the Sennheiser pc350 headset

Very interesting! I don't want to pull apart mine until they're out of warranty. Are the 3 holes you drilled at the top of the cup? After your mod, how does the sound dampening compare to before? Did they come apart easily, or are there clips, etc. to worry about snapping/breaking?

Beyerdynamic MMX 300 or Sennheiser PC350

I've sampled both headsets from both sound cards. There's a definite pitch difference in each headset's mic, but more noticeable while on the Xonar D2X mic line. In any case, it more likely than not will be of little consequence in gaming and voip applications. You can use WavePad to open...

Beyerdynamic MMX 300 or Sennheiser PC350

I got the USB sound adapter, but haven't tried it out, yet. My ASUS Xonar D2X has a special Headphone mode that drives the MMX300 well. The resistance on the MMX300 is 30 ohms while the PC350 is over 100. EDIT: The ONLY downfall of the MMX300, IMO, is while the mic is very good, there is...

Beyerdynamic MMX 300 or Sennheiser PC350

I now speak as owner of both Senn PC350 and Beyer MMX300. I ordered my MMX300 directly from Beyerdynamic's online shop (custom MANUFAKTUR). Though it took well over a month for them to arrive here in the U.S. from Germany, I'm happy I was patient! (didn't really have a choice!) While I...

Beyerdynamic MMX 300 or Sennheiser PC350

Any actual advice from someone who has *used* both PC350 and MMX 300? I'm looking for closed cans, myself.

Need a Headset with decent headphone components

Haven't heard the HD555, but do own the PC350 which is has a very hard/cold sound. Looking to get MMX 300, soon.

Beyerdynamic MMX 300 or Sennheiser PC350

Go for the Beyer, if you can. I have the PC350 and was immediately disappointed by the the harsh/cold sound compared to what I'm used to with my UE Super.fi 5 Pro, but I couldn't spend more on a headset, at the time. In fact, I came upon this thread while searching for reviews/prices on the MMX...

Can Xonar D2X drive Sennheiser HD 595?

I got the Sennheiser PC 350 which have a imp of 150 Ohms and Xonar does just fine. Bass Boost CMOY offered no improvement.
