Where can I purchase the Sugden Headmaster in the US?

I actually called North Country Audio once about the Headmaster and the guys was very obnoxious and refused to tell me his return policy (I think he said something like "if you want to buy it, why would you want to return it?"). Hopefully Brooklyn Audio will keep getting the Headmaster so at...

Where can I get the sony scd-333es

Well Crutchfield had one on their Scratch & Dent Dept a few weeks ago but it's gone now. They may get one again but their price is high, even for a used one ($589 I think). Do The Good Guys still have the 333es? I was at a big one today but only saw the 222es. Good Luck!

    Monster Cable HTS-2000 question

Hi guys! I just received the HTS-2000 power line conditioner and I'm not sure where to plug my components. Where should I plug the headphone amp (OBH-11SE)? Where should I plug the CD player? Right now I have my head amp plugged in the "PRE-AMP and my CD player in the "AUDIO SPARE...

Creek OBH-11SE hiss on headphone output #2

Thanks guys for all your comments! anders213: I think you and I are describing the same hissing noise. The difference is that CD3000 is more revealing than the HD600, therefore the hiss is higher in volume. So is this subtle hiss a manufacturer's defect or something that one has to live with?

Creek OBH-11SE hiss on headphone output #2

Ok, I tried all the different scenarios with the OBH-11SE and the CD3000 again and the following is what I heard. This is a rather long post so please bear with me. 1) Amp on, CD player on (stopped after playing a CD): Output #1: very slight and soft hiss. The hiss increases as I turn up...

Creek OBH-11SE hiss on headphone output #2

Thanks for your advice! I know what you mean and I can always plug the hp into output #1 and I actually have it set up like that now. Hiss is a subjective thing and its presence is usually not acknowledged by every single person. But once you hear it, it's difficult to forget about it. I...

Creek OBH-11SE hiss on headphone output #2

Hi guys! Well after further readings of Head-Fi and Headwize forums, I decided to invest in a good amp and some good interconnects. I went and ordered the OBH-11SE and Van den Hul D102MKIII ICs. Today I received both of them and hooked them up. Based on what I read from Headwize, the...

Now that I have cash Rs-2 or Cd3000

One more vote for the CD3000. I just got them 2 weeks ago and though not entirely broken in, I can say that the sound is very good and detailed with a big and deep soundstage. Also, they drive portable CDP very well, but the sound is not as good as a good component CDP. One thing to keep in...

    OBH-11SE question and misc

Hi all! I'm think getting a headphone amp and am considering the Creek OBH-11SE ($299 from Elusive Disc). Is the OBH-11SE a good fit for the Sony SCD-C333ES and the MDR-CD3000? Also, which ICs work well with this amp? Thanks!!

Multichannel SACDs on 2-channel SACD players?

Hello all! Can 2-channel SACD players read multichannel SACDs like the Midori's Mozart SACD? I read a few messages on this forum that said that new multichannel SACDs have a 2-channel layer so it's fully compatible with stereo SACD players. Is this true? Also, do Telarc SACDs have 3...

Check-in: Who has an SACD player?

Thanks MacDEF for mentioning my name! I was pretty busy this afternoon and didn't have time to read the forums. As many of you know, I just go my SACD player and 'am very happy with the purchase.

Received the 333ES today!! (Well yesterday to be more precise..)

I got the 333ES from jandr for 520. The official price for them is 600 I think. Their shipping is pretty reasonable ($10 2-day UPS) and they have an acceptable return policy (restocking fee may apply). If you live in CA, go to a Good Guys store and see if the 333ES is in stock for...

Received the 333ES today!! (Well yesterday to be more precise..)

Hello monk! Thanks for your reply and I feel better now about the warranty. As for the noise, I think I should I add that it sounds like a rolling metal ball inside the machine it sort of "bangs" against the cover. I don't think it actually hits the cover but it feels that way. Strangely...

Received the 333ES today!! (Well yesterday to be more precise..)

Hello all, Well the box finally arrived today and man it is huge (JandR double boxed it). And as everyone said, the machine is well built and doesn't feel flimsy. I listened to the SACD samplers and while I didn't spend a lot of time with them, I did notice that the sound was really up front...

CD Player recommendation for a novice audiophile

I'll report with pleasure! BTW, what's the proper way to burn-in the C333ES and the MDR-CD3000? What kind of music should I use? Thanks again!

I found the pricematch pdf but it didn't work. I did order the C333ES from jandr for $520 with free shipping.

CD Player recommendation for a novice audiophile

Thanks for all your comments! Man I really wish I were back in CA so I can go to the Good Guys right now and get the c333es. But I don't plan to go back any time soon. I did check goodguys.com and the c333es wasn't there. I searched the net but the only dealer that has the 333es with a...

CD Player recommendation for a novice audiophile

Based on what I've read from the forums, the Denon DCM-370 is a highly recommended budget CDP. But are there other CDPs at the same price range ($500 or less) that match the sound quality of the DCM-370? (A headphone jack is a must) The headphone that I'll be using is Sony MDR-CD3000. Thanks!
