I use a 60 GB ZVM with a Qables LOD cable and a PA2V2/BSG cMoy. Sounds good to me. The Alessandro MS1s sound great with them. I tend to like the PA2V2 a little more than the cMoy.

You could always wait until someone else has a broken pair up for sale and then use the drivers from them.

You can get a LOD cable from Qables.com*»*WHAT'S NEW too. I use one with my ZVM, and then output to either a PA2V2 or a custom-built cMoy in a black tin with a smiling magic mushroom on it from biosciencegeek on eBay. Using the LOD really improves the SQ.

IMO open and portable don't go well together. If it's noisy around you, you won't be able to hear your music very well and if someone is speaking loudly, it could seriously hurt your ears. I think open headphones that still have some isolation are ideal. They give you a balance of the open...

Listening to my 412P now and man, are they ever bassy Perfect for hip-hop. They take a while to even out too. They sound a little harsh when you first get 'em.

lol, I think the MS1s are the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn in my life, and I have a pretty big head (7 5/8 in fitteds). IMO they clamp so lightly that I can barely feel them. I don't know how people can complain about them being uncomfortable. I could sleep with them on!

I listen to the same kind of stuff as you (listening to a DJ Food Stamp mixtape right now, lots of Greg Nice tracks) and I really like the Alessandro MS1s. I absolutely love them. I can't stress how good they make my music sound. That being said, I'm using my AKG 412Ps since I wore 'em to work...
