Agreed on your impression of the Go Bar tone. Baskingshark, I do find the Gold version of the Go Bar to be a warmer presentation then the regular version, but I have not yet experienced any veiled/muddy sound with warm buds such as the FF3. I've found the Go Bar will acceptably drive the HD6XX...

Some great suggestions but I will add that earbuds have really advanced since the PK-1 and it is hard to recommend them now as compared to newer options. I have a set of PK-1's that just sit around as the FiiO FF3 have, IMO, made them seem obsolete.

Trashkpi was easy to communicate with and the transaction went smoothly. A great example of a fellow Head-fier who makes our classifieds a better place than eBay or elsewhere.

Using the iFi firmware update tool will report which firmware is installed. I have had no problems (yet) installing the newest firmware even when skipping multiple prior versions.

IMO either Go Bar handles some movement well, and using a cable that fits more snugly than the stock cable will help with this. With that said, I wouldn't want to run with it flopping around...as tragedy will eventually occur.

I've had good luck with both the DDHIFI TC09S and the FiiO LT-TC1 (both insert much more firmly than the stock ifi cable)..

The FF3 with the crisp, or no foams at all, may be a logical choice to try...

I have found the Go Bar to be on the warmish side of neutral and have not had any issues with any edgy highs. With that said, most of my headphones are warmish in character so I have not challenged the Go Bar with a headphone posing lots of treble energy.

In single ended mode I preferred the SR71A over the SR71B. When using the SR71B in balanced mode, it really shines and IMO sounds significantly better than SE mode from either device.

I use a Go Bar with the 6XX (balanced) and am very pleased with the result. While the Go Bar cannot fully drive the 6XX as well as my desktop amp (K7), it does a passable job with more than enough volume.
