I have used and enjoyed the AKG K550 on a long distance plane. Very good isolation and comfort. But i guess they are quite big in size :(   IEMs are also great since they offer good isolation and block the ears from varying air pressure. However they are too sensitive for in flight...

Posting this for information.   I checked with AKG about headband parts in UK. The K601 headband cost 56.7 GBP and the K702 (65th annie) cost 137.99 GBP. Also there is an  addition 7 GBP postage. Looks like it will be cheaper to buy the K702 annies and not bother about replacing the parts on...

I have used M-stage and HD800 and it is a very good combo. The M-stage controls the highs which works very well when paired with the HD800. You will have to spend lot more to get something better. I used the stock version of the M-stage and i found it better sounding with the default opamp.  ...

Picked it up 3 days for 149.95 GBP from richer sound. In comparison to my DAC Magic Plus, these do not sound bright but have a smaller soundstage. To me, they have a softer and relaxed sound but have to wait for them to burn-in. For the price that i paid, it is a bargain but too bad the USB...
