I don't get a chance to listen to music seriously much these days, but when I do, my XRs are all I need. They really are something special. Best audio (and impulse) purchase I've ever made by far.

I don't know, I'm listening to "Voyager" on my XR right now and it doesn't sound muffled to me. It's certainly warm, but that's how the song is supposed to sound, to my ears anyway. I just can't hear anything getting masked up top. The claps, the phaser, and even all the little blips and clicks...

  My ears do not agree. To me, the treble on the XR and the SR were pretty much the same, even when I used to A/B them one after the other. They may have different drivers in them, but Etymotic tuned them both to be so similar in that region. I think it's really phenomenal.

Like others on here, I too love the ER4 + Shure olive tips. My only issue is that they fit too tight on the stems of the earphones. I'm too afraid to even twist them on all the way for fear of not being able to get them back off. This was admittedly an issue even with Shure's own earphones, but...

So was I. Mine do hit 1 dB off. Minus, and almost positive between 100 and 10k, and clearly more than that beyond 10k. But it is technically within spec.

      I understand that 13-14k is pretty high, but I mean, that's a bit off.   EDIT: Your XRs don't hit 1 dB off either? Man, I got super unlucky DX

  Yeah, I know. It's just above 10k they're off by as much as 5 dB in some spots.... Oh well.
