How far away can others hear open cans that are on your head?

How far away can others hear open cans that are on your head?
Quote: So Vosper, I'll recommend that you take the time-honored head-fi route: you shouldn't have just one pair if you're going to use them in different places or for radically different kinds of music. That is, just keep the 580's at home, and you've got the PX100 to tide you over at work...- Vosper

How far away can others hear open cans that are on your head?
I'm really keen to get some open cans for use at home and at work, probably an HD-580 or 595. I'm worried though that I might disturb my workmates, one of whom sits about 6-ft away from me. I don't listen to music very loud, currently I have PX-100's and I know he can't hear them. How...- Vosper

Right now I'm about halfway through my first listen of Living Room. I've never heard anything quite like it. It's really cool - thanks for the recommendation! -

Dark, Complex, Mind-Bending Trance: Suggestions?
I'd recommend Juno Reactor - Labyrinth which has a couple of good tracks from the Matrix sequels and some very dark menacing, percussion heavy and complex trance tracks such as Conquistador II. -

Can anyone recommend a recording of Léon Boëllmann's Suite Gothique?
My flatmate was just playing the Toccata from Suite Gothique on the piano, and I thought it was great. I'd like to get him a good (CD) recording of it for his birthday, so if anyone knows of a good one I'd appreciate your recommendations! Cheers -

new Rammstein - Rosenrot
I know! I was really surprised they'd got another album out so quickly after Reise, Reise. Well, I don't think it's actually out, but I've got my hands on it just now and I'm giving it a spin, so this review is based on just my initial impressions after the first listen. Before I begin, let... -

I've been Spiritualized!
Do any of you like the 'noise' tracks on Ladies and Gentlemen? I refer to The Individual and No God Only Religion. I find those tracks very trying and always skip them - I think they're incongruous to the album and personally I'd prefer if they weren't there.... -
Need chillout recommendations !!!
Try 76:14 by Global Communication... it's in the ambient category but it's actually really good! Very organic and settling. It's also very light on beeps and clicks and annoying machine sounds! I have been listening to it whilst studying and I often find myself drifting away.... Really... -
I've been Spiritualized!
For the past couple of days I've been listening to "Ladies and Gentlemen we are Floating in Space" by Spiritualized. It's amazing! I love the vocal overlay in title-track intro, the slow burn of I Think I'm in Love, the caress of Cool Waves... The list goes on... What an awesome album! Now I see... -
Best electronica in 2005?
I agree that this year's been pretty thin on good electronica, but I think Let Us Never Speak of it Again by Out Hud is really superb. -

Pendulum - a must for d'n'b fans!
I heard Pendulum's 2005 release Hold Your Colour while at a friends house on Saturday night. It's the freshest, catchiest d'n'b I've heard in a long time. The tracks are diverse, incorporating reggae and hip-hop flavours. It's mostly not that 'dark' d'n'b that there seems to be a lot of. Also... -

Are there ipod-like players that don't need custom software?
I think he is talking about 20gb, or one of the standard large iPod sizes. As a mini user myself, I wouldn't recommend it for travelling - though its small, 5gb just isn't enough So these players just appear as hard-drives to Windows?- Vosper

Are there ipod-like players that don't need custom software?
A friend of mine has asked me to find out about ipod-like players that don't require custom software (eg iTunes) to be installed in order to add songs to the device. I guess he's thinking about travelling and wants to be flexible. Does anyone know of any devices like that? Ones that you can just...- Vosper

I just got Tech N9ne's album Absolute Power, and it's pretty damn good. "Industry Is Punks" is particularly awesome! You can guess what it's about....
