    What to get for best bang-for-the-buck: Audiofly AF56 * Audio Technica ATH-CKM500 * Vsonic GR07 MK2

Because he hasn't owned these four, but has had a few Etys.   I see that I missed out on being able to buy the Yamaha EPH-100's from J&R for $75 back when they had them in stock. : ( I could still get them for about $125 (80 pounds) in the UK.

    What to get for best bang-for-the-buck: Audiofly AF56 * Audio Technica ATH-CKM500 * Vsonic GR07 MK2

Quote:  I'm sorry to say that Martin Sägmüller hates Etymotic's house "sound" and likens it to having sucked every bit of joy out of music. I trust his opinion, hence I will not buy into Eytmotic.   The list as it stands now: Audiofly AF56's for $100 Audio Technica ATH-CKM500's for...

    What to get for best bang-for-the-buck: Audiofly AF56 * Audio Technica ATH-CKM500 * Vsonic GR07 MK2

See that's the reason I like my Meelecs: Their service and warranty is great. They have replaced my M6's before and go out of their way to be helpful, really. I just deal with one guy at Meelec now, and he's always willing and ready to help above and beyond the warranty. Logitech was good...

    What to get for best bang-for-the-buck: Audiofly AF56 * Audio Technica ATH-CKM500 * Vsonic GR07 MK2

I guess I'd define bang-for-the-buck as the most universally pleasant for the price paid. I know "universally" is a tough concept, but I'll defer to those of you with keener ears, more demanding tastes, and far wider experience and closets full of gear. For the record, I really do listen to...

Need something to drive my Ultimate Ears super.fi 5's

Unfortunately I believe that all you Super.fi 5 Pro users are in a better situation than I am with my Super.fi 5 (aka, the new one), which has a stupid 13ohm impedance.

Need something to drive my Ultimate Ears super.fi 5's

Quote: Honestly, I say buy an iPod Video. (5th or 5.5 gen) Best iPod ever made ^_^ Yes, that's a great suggestion, because that will certainly hiss like crazy all the time and is not UMS/MSC capable! And best of all, it's so cheap, right?

Need something to drive my Ultimate Ears super.fi 5's

Quote: I'm looking for a amp with TF 10 Pro, 32ohm. I'm sorry, I truly didn't understand that at all. Could I be so rude as to ask you to clarify/expand that previous statement?

SQ wize the Lplayer vs. D2 vs. U2

Not at all. I don't know if the D2 is better or not. But the Lplayer has nothing special to offer as far as sound quality goes, compared to earlier iRiver products like the S10 or the Clix2. Sure, it's better than an iPod, but isn't almost anything? That said, I really wouldn't buy an...

Need something to drive my Ultimate Ears super.fi 5's

Nope? Nobody? No wise words of advice? Or does nobody have super.fi 5's?

SQ wize the Lplayer vs. D2 vs. U2

The Lplayer cannot match its predecessor (the S10) for SQ. I'm afraid that so far, the Clix2 was the last truly good player iRiver made as far as SQ goes.

    Best for soundstage?

My UE super.fi 5's have an absolutely silly soundstage. I could park a bus on it.

Need something to drive my Ultimate Ears super.fi 5's

For the record, I've only gotten my super.fi 5's a few days ago, but I am very happy with what they're capable of. I tested (and compared them to other earphones) at the store I ultimately bought them at using the store's Cowon S9, which had a lovely sound. My current primary DAP is a Samsung...
