Can confirm, I'm in the same boat with no issues except a bad firmware update which Audeze went above and beyond to fix. Use my Penrose almost daily also...

I did briefly, before the latest firmware update. It was less muffled with the old update, but on the new update the mic it came with sounds better now. 1.10

Does the app "cube acr" work for you? I record calls with it on a pixel that supposedly doesn't allow it just fine.

I did the brainwaves velour and sound stage seems a little increased with very little/no noticeable difference in sound quality. If you follow the YouTube video a couple pages back you can reverse the whole thing if needed, but since it covers the green plastic I'd never go back.

I use the eq on warm and just recently changed to velour wicked pads from Amazon and enjoy it 10x better than stock (and it hid the color band quite nicely!)

The mic is much better but before the firmware update but I also grabbed a $3 mic from Amazon before that was better than the audeze previously. Any mic can plug in...but there is no reason now.

I think audeze probably has a hard time getting the scenario right because in a lab without much interference they may work fine. There's only 11 available channels of 2.4ghz in the US and most channels bleed about one channel in each direction...meaning if they are on 6, 5-7 could be noisy...

I'm confused where the Audeze bashing is coming from? The quoted sections said "if they make that mistake then try to claim they're not at fault". Audeze gave us all multiple options to have either an advance replacement mailed out, send it in for reflash on their dime, or wait for a brand new...

Audeze instructed us beta testers to use a new version of their desktop app, not android app. Someone in the forums here realized the firmware was available via app and wasn't displaying for the desktop version....our own faults to some degree....and Audeze reflashed mine and sent it back...

I'm trying to picture this..I have pulled it towards and away but always kept the mic at roughly a 30-60 degree angle. Since the mic monitoring gets so low at more than like an inch away I usually keep it right about 1 inch. Are you saying to angle it more like 90 degrees?

yes, even tried without the wind cover. My best results have been with it angled just below my mouth, above my chin but it always sounds weird on the s words like I have a hiss in my voice. That goes away completely with the cheapo mic or the modmic.

Odd part was the mobile app process was smooth and went to 100% in chunks...took about a minute. Looks like it should work fine so not sure what's borked, the firmware or the update process via mobile.

They are not asking for any credit card info...That doesn't seem likely as any time I've gone through those type of advanced replacements you usually have to get your credit card info to them before they ship in case you don't return them they process the full charge and not just a hold.

ugh, this sucks. The pc is recognizing the headset, its just the audeze app that isnt. I have noticed the mic did sound a little better and clearer but my $2.99 amazon one is still the winner. I was able to separately control the bluetooth and wireless volumes but it didnt make sense...
