LCD-X and XC Update
All LCD line headphones have received the new earpads. For what it's worth I personally really like the new leather-free earpads.- AudezeGrover

LCD-X and XC Update
Yeah, I usually don't do it and know better - my stereo system is all old skool triode stuff so you'd think I'd know that. I did it absentmindedly and suffered the consequences. It should be an easy fix, just a cap replacement, I've just been too busy honestly. Rocking a Schiit Jotunheim 1 in...- AudezeGrover

We're trying! Part of the reason I was brought on I think. And I do love me some ZMF, Zach and Beva re good friends and wonderful people. I've owned many ZMF's over the years too! Who said the end of 2021?- AudezeGrover

Very cool! I wish windows had a better VST plugin managing environment. I'm sure one exists but I usually just use some quick and dirty eq on my RME interface. I used to use Canopener too! Stopped because... I don't really know why. Probably because I liked the Phonitor matrix on the SPL...- AudezeGrover

LCD-X and XC Update
This wasn't necessarily supposed to be a HUGE revision as I understand it, which is why we didn't make a lot of fanfare. It was more to let recent purchasers know they had the knew one and to loop the general community in... Also as I understand it, supply issues have a thing since covid, and a...- AudezeGrover

I actually really like this idea! My understanding of Audeze's policy is still evolving, but my takeaway is that it's similar to Schiit's - you can express your personal feelings on a product's sound, but we try not to tell people what to hear, nor do we want to prescribe a single 'correct' way...- AudezeGrover

Is there a way you would have found preferable? Again, I didn't make the decision, but I'd be interested to hear. My experience when I worked at Schiit and some other audio companies was that a period of silent revision, then a full release announcement is pretty common.- AudezeGrover

I hear you. I will also say the focus recently hasn't been on hi-fi specific products, but we have not forgotten about you guys and we're not ignoring you. The feedback is received and appreciated.- AudezeGrover

Personally, as Grover, I agree with you 100%. I think Chris is generally sort of in the same headspace as I am, we tend to agree on a lot of things sonically. I'm also still relatively new at Audeze and learning how things work, and catching up on the history of the brand. I hadn't owned any...- AudezeGrover

LCD-X and XC Update
No engineering is perfect. It's a difficult balance between improving the product and trying to maintain a stable supply for customers. It's not possible to please everyone especially the audiophile community which has high standards. I'm not saying it's the right choice, but we didn't improve...- AudezeGrover

LCD-X and XC Update
The engineering team is constantly coming up with new solutions and improvements to things, and pad longevity is something they do think about a lot based on conversations I've had with Dr. C. I'd say the new pads should be pretty sturdy. I requested a pair of XC's so I can speak to the details...- AudezeGrover

hahaha, wow this looks like the marketing material Fab-Filter puts out xD What host are you using to run the VST? I admit to being a little out of the loop on head-fi stuff. Just downloaded Equalizer APO to test out with, but I'm more familiar with pro tools such as FF at the moment.- AudezeGrover

I would email suppport@audeze.com as far as I know this was just an LCD-X and XC change, but I could be mistaken about that. EDIT: Just checked with support - ALL of the new LCD models have this pad change. Apologies for my previous mistaken answer.- AudezeGrover

Magnet arrangement has been changed and earpads have been changed. We recommend sending them in and not just swapping earpads as the changes are designed to work together in tandem. Email support@audeze.com to ask about that.- AudezeGrover
