    AH-C452 - replacement cable?

So the right side of my denon IEM's went this morning, confirmed the cable is faulty. Is it even feasible to purchase a cable for these guys or should I consider this a time to upgrade. I love these and have no reason to want better, I use my DT770's for my audiophile sessions. I repair...

    hello all, earbud updating...

I was given the advice to go with the Denon AHC452's over a year ago by you guys, and I have in fact found them to the superb for the price. However, they have dropped in price, and alongside that I have finally lost my last pair of tips for them. So, I guess an upgrade is in the works. I...

    upgrading from SE110s

About 2 years ago I bought my brother a pair of SE110's, to kind of get him introduced to somewhat decent sound. He is graduating with a B.S. and I want to get him something much better. He likes the sound of the 110's, but its all he is used to. I was thinking to stick to the shure type sound...

    computer headphone noise

So I got a new computer case, since I wanted frontside USB and a headphone input. I picked up an Audigy X-fi extreme while I was at it. The sound card is a great deal better than the onboard one, but I started using my DT770's with the front input and new sound card, there is always a loudish...

My perfect trinity of headphones... Discovered!!!!!

man, I really love my dt770's. granted I do want to try some others out, I have no complaints yet. I think they're relatively flat, and they can get loud as piss w/o being fatiguing, which is great.

    shure SE110's

So Im trying to get my brother into the audio world, so i bought I was looking for a pair of decent earbuds for him the other day at frys. I bought the Shure SE110's because everything else was sony and panasonic, or it was out of my price range. Im just wondering what he and I should expect...

does headphones that cost 1000$ sound as good as speakers that cost 1000$?

Up to a point of high cost, headphones easily take the market in sq and realism. After that (say $1000-1500), headphones dont compare to a simple well put together 2 channel home audio system. They lack the physical bass aspects as well as the ease of developing a very spacial but deep...

    Bose headphones...overpriced and crappy sound?

dont know about the headphones, but I dont consider the $3000 acoustimass much worse than the $100 RCA's at Radio Shack (and I hate RCA). Cant imagine their headphones being any better. I think they're revolutionary in the way they've deceived so many people, and continue to do so. jeff

    settled on DT770's...

quick question. I hear talk of getting a dedicated amp in nearly every thread, and I understand that. As it's said, your system is only as good as its weakest link. But I have noticed that the only time I hear of getting a dedicated external amp is when someone's using a portable device(ipod, cd...

    settled on DT770's...

been spending a while trying to decide which headphones to go for. I decided that after reading many reviews, my best bet is to just get a pair and if I dont like them try something else. I'm going for the DT770's. I know they're $250 on headphone.com but I'm sure they're cheaper elsewhere. I'm...

The 595's are appealing to me. Where would one find those the cheapest? In the FS forum? thanks guys... I may still consider the grado's, but I did read in some reviews that the high end was fatiguing on the 325i's, but others said they were flawless...

    cheapest place for HD650's...

mmk well being that I will have the same Denon amp for a while to come, Im guessing that I should get a pair of headphones that will be easier to drive. Maybe 595's would work better, and I hear they're pretty darn close to the 600/650 series. Have been seriously considering grados, but read...

This decision is killing me. What's the general consensus to cans that compare to the HD650's that are easy to drive? I was staying away from Grados cause I listen for hours on end. Though I'm sure they do sound great.

Am i being stupid or do headphones sound better at night?

I think psycho-acoustics should be mentioned here. Also, just as closing your eyes makes your ears more engaged with the music, so does it being dark. The reason being that as you shut out one sense, you broaden another. An example of this comes through in blind musicians (ray charles, for...
