Those look great! Tbh, I think the best of all of the Foster OEM headphones is the E-MU Teak, then probably Fostex X00 Ebony. I absolutely love the D2000 though and for the price it's basically unbeatable imo. The purpleheart are great if the one and only thing you care about is sheer bass...

I've actually owned TH-X00 Purpleheart as well (but I sold those in the Summer). They're great and definitely the bassiest model, but I'd say it comes at a price of muddiness. D2000s are absolutely fantastic. I have a pair that I've put TH-600 cups on / added removable cables and I like them more than these Denon D5200.

Definitely going to agree with the others, the Foster OEM cans (x00, teak, etc.) are way more comfortable. The hotspot on 5200 headband is kinda awful. I have some TH900 Mk2 coming in soon and so I don't anticipate keeping the 5200, most likely.

Yeah I have to have them almost fully extended which is unusual for me on a headphone, weird that it was designed this way... I actually think that my old X00 and my D2000 are more comfortable

Has anyone who jumped on the $209 deal had their headphones shipped out yet? Mine still says "status: completed" and as far as I know, I was one of the earlier people to place the order. A couple friends of mine who ordered later but got "status: problem" have had their orders cancelled / refunded.

I ordered mine at 4:30PM EST and haven't gotten any problem messages, just a confirmation and order page. Perhaps it did go out of stock...

Really enjoying my D2000 with TH-600 cups! Quite a slam. Going to do the SMC Connector mod soon and make some custom cables. Also have some TH-610 cups coming soon that I'm looking forward to trying.
