Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion
Saw my firsy ever Bathys in the wild today. And Ive gotta say it looked a bit silly, bit cups potruding from the side like a spaceman helmet. I really enjoy how sleek the px8 look, especially the black/navy, they dont draw attention and just blend in. Big contrast to when I had Bathys and felt...- mainguy

Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
After listening to May's as my portable source exclusively, switching back to my £379.99 B&W bluetooth headphones (PX7 S2) I found the headphones sounding congested, lacking in clarity and detail...People don't know the deal they're missing out with on the May. And to be honest overall I find...- mainguy

Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
I'm absolutely blown away by the May. I got them brand new on eBay for £57 with a 10% off ebay promo on one of the stores. These are absolutely absurd for the price. For reference I have some very good high end iEMs in the Dorada (£1100), and have owned quite a few high end sets (Xelento...- mainguy

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones
if only the PX7 S2 was that premium and gorgeous, what a design! Is it the wireless model, and how much? I've been using the PX7 S2 lately and upon reflection, I have a feeling the P7w is better. I think P7w is closer to PX8 than the smaller sibling- mainguy

Campfire Chat - Official Campfire Audio 2024 Thread!
Great price on the Dorado 2020, in my humble opinion one of the most enjoyable iems on the market full stop :)- mainguy

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
go to a canjam and you realise about 60% of us audio enjoyers are bald. Or maybe we all shave our heads to get the best seal with headphones- mainguy

Focal Clear headphones
You can accelerate this burn in process by taking an open wood fire, and very swiftly dipping your Clears into it several times. If you're fast there won't be any damage but it should add about +20hrs worth each time and get you closer to maxing them out.- mainguy

Luxury & Precision (LP) W4, Successor to Their Popular W1/W2 USB Dongle is Here!
Man I just got the W2 used on eBay for 115, but I like it so much I wish Id stretched for W4EX to get that sweet sweet volume wheel. The smooth sound signature is very nice for some evening listening.- mainguy

Campfire Dorado 2020
2 months with these iems and they still blow me away. With EDM they are insane, the thickness, the bass response and sound signature, just bliss. So glad I tried 20+ iems at canjam to get my tastes down. I don't think they synergise well with go blu. They lose a lot of composure and 3...- mainguy

iFi audio GO blu - Super small. Super light. Super Sound.
This is why, despite the huge amounts of hatred Apple got for it, they used lightning connectors and tried to certify chargers. There are absolute trash chargers and cables on the market which damage devices. Glad they fixed it up and a shame you were a victim of some shoddy engineering on...- mainguy

Focal Stellia Review, Measurements, Interview - Head-Fi TV
I did. Stellia has some magic sauce, it's the mixture of detail and tonality, it sounds so much smoother than the Clear to me. It's much better, so much so that I had Clear and demoed Stellia and was 'wowed' so to speak. Of course, open back is nice too. Although these days I prefer closed...- mainguy

Campfire Audio Trifecta
it'll be fine. Really for gaming open back headphones will always be better because of positioning/placement. A 560s is probably better for competitive gaming than a trifecta. But for immersion and fun? Trifecta will be insane.- mainguy

Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion
It's a winner for a BT set imo. Most of us here have desktop headphones and loudspeakers. Fact is the technical abilities of all of these BT headphones falls miles short of those, even the universally acclaimed Bathys is nowhere near similarly priced desktop headphones from Focal. So really...- mainguy

Campfire Dorado 2020
My advice, don't sit on an IEM you're so-so on. I did that with Andromeda because tier lists/reviewers said it rocked their world. But I've been much happier with the cheaper Dorado. You know when you find the one ;)- mainguy

Campfire Dorado 2020
Had these for around a month now, so well and truly past the honeymoon phase and I still love them. Atm my fave 3 iems I've ever heard are Trifecta Singularity/Dorado These are my favourite campfire IEM ive owned (versus Andromeda, Solaris and Vega). They sound like a muscle car, notes have an...- mainguy

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
I wonder if Sennheiser could feasibly make a tws as good as their ie600/i900, and if not, what exactly prevents that. I really want a tws that can compete with my solid wired iems.- mainguy

Bowers&Wilkins new flagship the P9!
DMS' video did a lot of damage, it's so off the mark I wonder if he had a faulty pair (as Zeos reviewed the same pair), but then again he also said Bathys are superior in sound to Radiance while having both onhand, so all bets are off.... But I think the community is waking up as a whole, most...- mainguy

Bowers&Wilkins new flagship the P9!
Agree. Something just sounds right about them, I really notice this if I listen to a podcast with them, voices sound very natural and easy on the ear. There isn't that artificial crispiness which tons of headphones add to feign clarity. The P9 and VC remain the most natural sounding headphones...- mainguy

Bowers&Wilkins new flagship the P9!
Indeed it was the mids that I noticed when switching from P9 to Radiance, whenever I switched to the latter it sounded a bit like I was listening to the vocals through an old radio in comparison - a hint of flatness or tinniness. Sure in isolation I'd be happy with Radiance, it was just the...- mainguy
