    Lotoo Paw 6000 (2019)

What started as a joyous journey with Lotoo Paw 6000 has turned into a sour experience, bought it from headphonezone India. Within a month I have had two major issues: 1. Bluetooth stuck. It is definitely on but won't search or pair any devices, won't turn off/on, it won't do anything. Won't...

    The Stax Thread III

I think it will all depend on how loud you wanna go and if you want to EQ your headphones. I'm not an audiophile so my opinion is of a common consumer trying to get the best bang for your buck in my hobby. I think between a 252S, a 353X, 727A will at best have a slight difference in sound...

I haven't even gotten a proper amp and now I am eager to give a go to the ES-Sigma, however I cannot find reviews or impressions anywhere. Any hints? They go for 800 USD with the 404 drivers., seems like a good price for it.

900 USD for a SRM-727A a good deal? Is it a good amp? Directly from Stax Japan. I was looking for an amp earlier on, I still am as the one I was eye'ing got instantly bought by someone else.

Via USB it does... but so does the "Music" app, except for DSD it seems. For the internal DAC it doesn't, it's technically impossible for anyone to use it due to the odd custom audio stack implementation from Sony, when you choose high res streaming it will upsample all audio to 32 bits except...

I decided to unplug everything and move it to move it to my home office... After that the issues disappeared. Not sure if it was a bad connection or some of interference as the circuit in my bedroom for some reason has an AC unit and a heater drawing power from the same circuit as the power...

@PointyFox thanks for the info, good to know these headphones can handle it. Yep, I set it to auto gain and it usually the final gain ends up in -6dB to -9dB, so that's why I need to turn up the volume quite a bit on the SRM-252S. I will try your suggestion. I am using a Topping D50s to feed...

@RKarim I have exactly the same issue but with a SRM-252S and L300. I am starting to wonder if it's the headphone... but since it's my first electrostatic I have no idea if I am pushing it to the limit. Whenever I play any bass heavy or busy track and go past 2' on the volume pot, which I need...

IEMs. Now using the Moondrop Starfield, the same as our fellow. Same boat as Anthony, I don't love it but it does a pretty good job at not burning my phone's battery... Plus side no music interruption and hardware buttons for music playback. The last update took away some of my discontent and...

Personal opinion: it is definitely underpowered compared to nearly everything out there, works superb for IEMs or bluetooth cans. I have the Asian NW-A105 (Made in Malaysia), updated to 3.00.07 as per below: https://www.sony-mea.com/en/electronics/support/downloads/00016951 I find myself...

I noticed that issue with the volume controls however I just disregarded it since it didn't bother me much.... Now that the music player supports EQ for bluetooth headsets it would be awesome if it also supported EQ for USB audio devices (DAC). The only reason I didn't use the music app often...

Thanks for the reply, I am happy with the L300 sound by EQing and giving it a slight bump in the bass/mid bass region, I am just quite unhappy with the volume levels I can achieve with it when paired to the 252S. 3 to 3:30 it's the sweet spot that would make me happy but I have to stick to 12-1...

Question from a broke STAX lover who likes to crank up the volume. I've got the L300 and the SRM-252S, I'm super happy with the L300... If you read previous pages on the D50, there's some issues: DAC is bad (some even saying it's terrible) and that it is better to use outboard DAC. D50 gets quite hot. I love the design, it's just beautiful... The size is also pretty good. I'd actually love to own one, it's in my wishlist...

Doesn't work for me. Double tap, single tap, long press but nada. From the album cover, song name, artist name, album name but it doesn't do a thing. The only controls are the visible buttons (shuttle, rewind, play/pause, fast forward, repeat, favorite the song) and swiping left, right, up or down.

Honestly if I could do it all over again, I wouldn't have bought this DAP. It's underpowered in every possible way.... On most Android apps it will lag quite a fair bit. It's very weak so it can't drive any power hungry headphones. It's 2020, nearly 300 bucks and they could only put 16GB on...

For USB external DAC it seems to be restricted to 16 bit 48kHz because of some odd implementation on Sony's side, the USB DAC gets recognized and I thought in theory any USB DAC would bypass that restriction but it does not in this particular DAP... Seems like no app is able to bypass this...

You can thank Sony. Most apps won't recognize properly any USB DAC. I have an iFi hip-dac and guess what? It plays music on the DAC but the light indicator is stuck in green which is the most basic playback, the lowest you can go. This is using the TIDAL app. Tried on Samsung Note 9 and it...
