    Wharfedale Isodynamic headphones?

Like mine, your set of earpads look like they've gone through the process of shedding whatever that coating was. The Wharfedale Isodynamics came supplied with (certainly in the UK) a female 1/4" jack with a short stereo lead terminating in plastic 2 pin din plugs, no intervening electronics. I...

Nowhere is the third button mentioned on Monolith USB/DAC

Why is this? We all know this budget device punches above its weight (very little :)) but though the Monolith has been often written about I can't find any mention of the single button (not the vol up/down buttons). Is it simply on/off? Intrigued

How do I balance headphones when Windows 10 offers no left/right control

Certainly was. Still, I've learned that device drivers have significant control of how Windows Settings looks. Never had this with me Linn.

How do I balance headphones when Windows 10 offers no left/right control

Well - as you will see my Devices Sound screen does not have a Device Properties section but this might be as this particular copy of Windows 10 is not activated - mmm... Either way I've only got ganged output control in Windows.

How do I balance headphones when Windows 10 offers no left/right control

Well - I re-installed Equalizer AOP and this time no objection from Windows. However apart from the old chestnut of what appears to be left/right outputs swapped somewhere in the PC chain, or at least the interface shows them to be (I know the music presents correctly at the headphones from...

How do I balance headphones when Windows 10 offers no left/right control

Reluctant to strap anything on to the end of the audio chain which is: Hi Res streaming from PC/ Dragonfly Black on usb port/ MF X-Can V2/ DT770 pro 250 ohm. It just happens that the X-Can (like the majority of headphone amps) has no balance control. I did briefly install Equalizer APO but...

How do I balance headphones when Windows 10 offers no left/right control

Thanks @NA Blur (and others) I appreciate your efforts! Turns out this is a common if minor problem with no simple answers. I did contact AQ's UK rep and many thanks to Nick Allen who immediately replied to my query. It seems "unfortunately due to the DragonFly’s design, there is no option of...

How do I balance headphones when Windows 10 offers no left/right control

Ahhh! So this is dependant on the driver supplied by the device mfg, not Windows. I see now why I couldn't force Windows to provide it (its available through the GPU audio output). As you say, if AQ have been asked historically, don't suppose it's at the top of their list for upgrades. However...

How do I balance headphones when Windows 10 offers no left/right control

Thing is - as per screenshot and as mentioned in question - there is no visible balance option in my version :slight_frown:

How do I balance headphones when Windows 10 offers no left/right control

The question says it all, really. I am listening through Dragonfly Black/DT 770 Pro 250 ohm and need to adjust lefr/right balance on the phones. There is no visible balance option on the Windows 10 sound control panel dedicated to the Audio Quest dac. What to do?

    Wharfedale Isodynamic headphones?

Small update. I removed the din plugs from the adapter and connected decent banana plugs for strapping to my Ion Obelisk. I think I'm now hearing what the age of the amp is producing (probably caps). However the Wharfedales still sound amazing and the right channel driver burst in to life the...

    Wharfedale Isodynamic headphones?

I do have the original female 1/4" jack socket to a pair of din plugs which came in the space age transparent case so... I could start again with the 1/4"socket and wire (I think you meant) banana plugs on and drive them off my Ion Obelisk, see what happens :)

    Wharfedale Isodynamic headphones?

I have a pair of Wharfedale Isodynamics and like many of you, have owned them from the 1970's! Usual deteriation of materials but in addition one driver has been reluctant to 'wake up' until its been fed with high power for a while. Anyone else had this problem and more crucially know how to fix it?
