AKG 712 Pro Purchased these about a year ago. Everything is like new - I do not have the original packaging but have the included cable. No issues to report. Headband is still working properly, no signs of wear/tear.

Just fyi, on an Arctis Pro Wireless I can go up 2 floors through closed doors and plaster walls, no issues.

Your argument just doesn't stand. If it works, the Penrose was the wrong investment. Not sure why you're so defensive on this point. Because it makes Audeze possibly look bad? Plenty of people will end up owning both consoles.

Sounds no better than my Arctis Pro. Certainly worse than my modmic but that's wired.

That isn't my experience, so I'm not sure if you had a faulty headset. I've had the same issue outside of just Penrose or Steelseries, including with HyperX products. At some point you have to balance feature set versus sound quality. If sound quality is your only concern then I guess go with...

This is completely not true. You can turn off side tone. In fact, it isn't enabled by default.

It's something you only hear if sound is muted. Basically any wireless set will have that to some degree. If you can't deal with that, wired is about the only solution. I'm sure the Penrose has some sound of you aren't playing audio as well.

No clue. It is great for gaming, has wireless, Bluetooth, optical, aux out, 2 batteries, and a mic I've never heard complaints about. It also has none of the buggy crap going on in these threads and is visually more appealing.

Just get an Arctis Wireless Pro. It has the most utility.

And quality and usability of a product they rushed out the door.

Glad I canceled. Had a feeling these were going to be bad. The annoying part is they *knew* they were shipping a subpar product.

Both versions have been delayed, not just the X. The common factor is Audeze.

They're waiting on certification, not manufacturing.

I've pre-ordered plenty of electronics. Consoles are far more complicated than a headset with a mic attached. I got my XBX early.

I've never seen this happen with a set of headphones. Good lord.

Meanwhile... Penrose X will arrive in 2022.

I'm really liking my a steelseries arctis pro wireless for what it's worth. And you can drop by any Best Buy now to grab one. Also infinite battery juice and you don't have to ship it in to replace the battery long term.

I ended up canceling and going with SteelSeries. Similar features (if not more) and I don't need to wait 2 months. Good night sweet Penrose X prince.

Crazy how long the X is taking. Going to lose a lot of sales. Might as well pick up an Arctis Pro Wireless.

I'll have to give Waves NX a shot when I get the Penrose X. I may transition my Fidelio X3 to my record player if the Audeze is good enough.
