Stax SR-X9000
I’ve only heard it at audio shows (with the first time it having insane channel imbalance) but I did feel like it was sort of veiled as well. And to be transparent my favorite headphone currently is the 007mk1 which is considered the darkest of all the stax models (apart from the original...- orcawithabat

Stax SR-X1 (new entry model)
To be fair, it depends on what you’re willing to put up with. You can find decent deals on a 3100 system which includes a L300 and 252s to power it. That can be find for well under $550 easy. But again, it would need to be used.- orcawithabat

Stax SR-X1 (new entry model)
I think the x9000 will stay their top tier and everything after this will be some sort of trickled down tech. In 2012 the 009 was released and three years later the updated lambdas were released. The L700 being the major trickle down technology. So I imagine that they’ll either make an updated...- orcawithabat

Stax SR-X1 (new entry model)
This is a great move from them as having an entry level "normal" looking headphone is a great decision. Makes it much easier to consume, especially with the amp/headphone combo. I know many people who enjoy Stax models but don't want to put up with the look of them or spend the money for the...- orcawithabat

Did anyone else have an issue with the x9000 cups being massive? I’m sure it helps as the diaphragm of the driver is much bigger than previous models but man it was massive- orcawithabat

Maybe one day if I have the x9000 at home I’ll have a different impression of them. One thing I can say though is that they are beautiful- orcawithabat

Stax SR-X9000
Recently heard the x9000 at an audio show with the t8000. I compared it with the 007mk2 and with the t8000 I preferred the 007. The x9000 has wayyy more stage and more open feel, but the 007 has a much closer and punchier presentation. That being said I have 3 reasons why I believe the x9000...- orcawithabat

Audeze CRBN Interview, Review, Measurements
So I also just came back from that same audio fest. The crbn at the audeze booth have a pretty wild channel imbalance (like about 20%). This was early in the morning. The other one didn’t though. The guy tried it on and he confirmed that, yes, it had channel imbalance which I found funny but...- orcawithabat

Stax SR-X9000
Yeah honestly for me my 007mk1 + a 7db boost in the sub bass and these things punch and have some of the best bass I’ve ever heard. They rumble super well and make a genre, like hiphop for example, a super enjoyable experience which no other estat or planar for that matter have matched for me...- orcawithabat

Stax SR-X9000
Yeah I was thinking of a KGSSHV from Birgir soon enough. It’s expensive though so probably not for a while but for sure when I do get one I’ll be sure to give my impressions of the improvements. I’ve been told the 007 is the hardest to drive Stax (next to the sigmas I believe as well). I assume...- orcawithabat

Stax SR-X9000
Honestly I’m super excited to find out how amps effect the sound. Currently have a 007mk1 paired with a 323s which I’ve been told is not even close to enough power. Curious to get a good comparison going on between the 323s and some other high end amp- orcawithabat

From some accounts I’ve heard they are basically a less refined version of the 007mk1. Never heard one myself though so I can’t say- orcawithabat

Audeze CRBN Interview, Review, Measurements
I’ll be honest I’ve been lurking just getting everyone’s opinions for a while on multiple threads. After hearing everything it just seems like you’re bias almost like you work for audeze or something. You’re like a broken record going on and on saying the same thing over and over it’s just so...- orcawithabat

No thats fair I get that. Honestly as long as companies like Stax still offer great "lower end" offerings and don't just focus on the wild pricing I think its fine.- orcawithabat
