The way I always solder is I tin *all* of the wire(s) that will go onto/into place first!  Then I tin the component/terminal (always use solder flux) to prep it.  Once both are tinned then dab a little flux on the wire (or terminal) and hold the iron there until it melts.  When it melts, because...

Just built a cable for my 650s :)  Carnare cable de-sleeved and paracorded, cardas HD600/650 connectors, neutrik 1/4mm jack.  Sounds great!!! I have more connectors

This may be a question for Schiit but do you guys know if the Magni2U can accept a 2V DC signal?  Haven't really found the specifics on it.  I have an iMod I want to run capless thru it and see how it sounds

Coming from someone who has soldered crazy small components, this is a 2/10. Not hard, just don't hold the iron on the wire for longer than needed. The drivers can get damaged. You can do it :) Just practice with the iron on spare wire first. Cut them and solder them back together. The go get it!

Well I got my Magni2U + Modi2U combo.  I have to say, coming from an iMod + Mini3 + HD650 this is such a mind blowing upgrade!  Schiit has really blown my mind with this combo, I've never heard the HD650s sing like this.  Balance, soundstage, and detail is just unreal.  I don't know what to say...
