    top ten most indistructable cans

Beyerdynamic DT100/DT150. If I had to choose a headphone for playing conkers, that is. I also think the K171S would stand a chance if it were to be dragged after a car or something like that.

Beyerdynamic Custom Ones! New Beyer headphones!

Quote:   Artificial leather doesn't look too bad, cut it from some old purse. Real would probably be better, but at least it looks like the pads.   On a side note, the original cable broke about a week after purchase, having used it at home with an amp (I know) and a couple of times...

    Headphone Sightings 2

A customer at the local gas station wore a Ultrasone Edition 8. He even had a Colorfly DAP. Certainly a sharp dressed man.

I'd rather have people being smug over the Beats than the AKGs.     ...even though I find it irritating nevertheless, even when PortaPros were the most popular cans (about seven years ago), people either bragging about them or blasting their music into the closed interior of a bus or a train.

    Sennheiser HD 650 smell

Quote: I had a general chemistry book that was ever so new, yet smelled like puke. It was supposed to (according to the publisher) to go away if you left it outside over the night, yet it smelled like puke the rest of the year. That being said, I don't find the smell of the...

Headphones - WORN!!! - new thread - no nudity

It's because of hotlinking, as Ultrazino points out it is possible to see them if they are cached. The fact that most people can't see the images is actually due to "referrer information", which if turned off allows loading of hotlinked images. I can see them with referrer information off, but...

    Your first eargasm...

First? Probably the album Perdition City on my used-to-death/traded-for-Porta Pro K240M and PA2V2. Last one was listening to Jaga Jazzist on my DT990s. Probably not a first choice for experimental jazz, but I can't hate that powerful, immersive sound.

    SR225i with 3.5mm jack?

I don't know about the Iphone, but I've used both Symbian (and I think Android too) devices with media buttons on a connected Bluetooth headset. Connect the headset first, then the headphone jack. Music out at the jack, remote controlled at about ten meters. Could be a bug, but I guess it has...

Reply to review by 'kjetilh' on item 'beyerynamic DT 150 Compact Closed Headphone (250 Ohms)'

Both has a 6N2 tube, and I've understood that these are almost identical, down to the ugly plastic covering the single tube, though the HA2 does not have a LED in it. As the Argon brand is described as "models and manufacturers hand-picked in the Far East" and Mistral refers to themselves as a...

Review by 'KjetilH' on item 'beyerynamic DT 150 Compact Closed Headphone (250 Ohms)'

Coming from a K171S followed by a DT990, I guess I wanted a combination of the two - a somewhat flat-sounding closed set of cans combined with the comfort, size and soundstage of the latter. The DT150 certainly does the trick. Much more "alive" than the K171S, quite comfortable*, "alive"...

    Strangest looking headphones?

Not much competition to the K1000, but while on the "good sounding cans from outer space" part, I'd say the Beyer DT150. Looks dead serious, though it reminds me a bit too much of hearing protection.

    Headphone Sightings 2

Quote: Funny thing is, around 2004 the PortaPros were mostly the only headphone anyone used, I may have known a couple of people with a PX100 though. Nowadays, most people got Ipod-buds, WESC-cans, quite a few Beats and AKGs, mostly K450s and K518LEs. The AKGs are probably the easiest...

    the most comfortable headphones?

My head is fairly large, and I've found the K240 to be the most comfortable, especially considering lack of clamping compared to my DT990.

Help me convince my friend to not get Dre Beats

Your friend will get mugged, or at least run a higher risk with the giant logo on the side (Monster Beat-up).    Jokes aside, the build is, obviously, not on par with the price, I remember seeing quite a few complaints about squeaky hinges as well as sound leakage, both which probably apply...

    Beyerdynamic DT209: Any experiences?

A friend of mine is going to get some new headphones. He is also going to get rid of his old ones, which is a broken portable AKG (which I could need), but also something more interesting: A Beyerdynamic DT209, which is, as far as I have understood, a pilot headset. This friend is living quite...

    Recabling: Isolation on the wires

Thanks for the advice. Then I think I'll recable them as you suggested, shouldn't be any problems (accidently ripped off the cables in my old K26Ps and learned the hard way how to fix them). Phono cable and a angled plug of some kind should do the trick, I think.

    Recabling: Isolation on the wires

I'm thinking about recabling a pair of AKG K518DJ (K81DJ), and want to go for the easy solution, just cut of the original cable at a suitable length and solder on a plug, which shouldn't prove too difficult, even for a complete soldering-newbie like myself. However, I have read that some...
