Semi-portable closed back headphones for Cayin N6ii

I'm trying to find some semi-portable over-ear closed-back headphones to use with the Cayin N6ii. I would like them to have decent bass response, but without muffling the overall sound. I searched the Dan Clark Audio Aeon 2, but I have read the bass is really light on that set. Hoping there...

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Listening to this through the Cayin N6ii E02 with the 64 Audio Nio. Whoa boy this is intoxicating.

It's the puck from 64 Audio. The foam in the bottom part was easy to just pull out. The lid contains another thin foam insert to hold APEX modules, cleaning tool and a small desiccant container. You could probably take the desiccant container out giving a little more room up top. I'm only...

It's tight, but I got the Nio with the PW Audio No 10 8-wire in a puck case. Also, the 8-wire No 5 fits a little better because the wire is a thinner gage on that cable.

Have you seen the newer Pelican cases from 64 Audio? They are better than the old plastic cases and I think would work better than the round aluminum cases. https://www.64audio.com/collections/protective-cases/products/pelican-case

Great review and an informative read. I love my Nio. I'm running them with the PW Audio No 10 8-wire and the Cayin N6ii E02. I could listen to them all day and with the APEX modules I can get that great bass without any fatigue; unlike some other IEM's I have tried.

I have had the No 10 since last week and love it. So I figured I would get the No 5 as well.

I think headphones.com has an open box Trio for $1,549 which is a great deal.

I use Azla Sedna EarFit Lights on my Nio and U12t and they don't move at all on the nozzle. They stick right where I put them with no slip.

    PW Audio Cables Discussion Thread

I just got the PW Audio No 10 8-wire cable yesterday. It might make some sonic differences, but what I can absolutely say is this thing is a joy to look at. The physical qualities of it (sturdiness, materials used, shimmer of the silver) are really great. I like thicker/meatier cables like this...

This would be my thoughts about the upcoming release as well. They don't have anything priced below $1,699 and if they could tap into that "lower end" market they could get more 64 Audio IEM's in people's hands and ears. Once you hook someone with an overall sound profile they like you often...

I think I might actually be done chasing for a while......... The Nio with the PW Audio No 10 (8 wire) and the Cayin N6ii E02 is just wonderful. Warm, bassy, luscious and so much fun. Then you have the U12t with the Dunu Hulk. Detailed, smooth treble, the right amount of bass for...

Cayin N3Pro DAP: Dual AK4493 and MQA with Vacuum Tube

Yes, reputable dealers will sell them as open box at some discount. They just take the loss between what they could have sold it at versus what they do sell it at. Places like Amazon can more easily absorb this just based on their sheer size, even though they have their limits too. Smaller...

Cayin N3Pro DAP: Dual AK4493 and MQA with Vacuum Tube

You could check with Andrew at MusicTeck. He might have one that's being used as a demo. You can also return items for mostly free within 30 days if you pay with Amazon Pay. You would have to pay the return shipping. If you use a credit card or PayPal you would have those fees held out of the...

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

To me it's not really a lisp type of thing. When I get hit with sibilance it's a distinct, sharp, piercing sound that cuts through all the other sound and literally makes my eardrums shudder. Like what npZONE said, it can make you wince. I can't say that everyone hears sibilance that same way...

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

Yeah, the term "bright" can mean a lot of different things to different people. It could be lots of treble energy, it could be sibilance, it could be the upper mids pushed forward or it could be just very detailed in the upper mids and treble frequencies. That's why trying the IEM's themselves...

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

Yeah, I have a number of tracks that I specifically go to when I try any IEM's (and these are songs that I love listening to a lot) and if the S and T come across sharp and sibilant I know it won't work for me. And I know people often talk about how graphs aren't the end all, but on those IEM's...

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

I bailed on the Hero. I didn't like treble and found it sharp and peaky. I also didn't find the bass to be sufficient enough when compared to the Nio. Again, that's why there are many manufacturers in the world. If everyone loved the same sound we would only need one IEM, in total, worldwide. I...
