I really don't care if you think I'm defending it because "hype", you can DEFINITELY hate anything you want. What actually matters is the justification of the means, and quite frankly, you're doing an incompetent job of merely saying that you hate the said IEM. Your reviews are read by many...

Midbass subdued? Can't you see your OWN graph's bass shelf LITERALLY transitioning -1db per OCTAVE from the highest BASS SHELF? The shelf LITERALLY is just below -5db in difference to the highest peak of the pinna gain. Did you know that the biggest wavelength will be the dominant tone that will...

I don't really care what you really feel about the IEM, but it's super obvious you don't know what you're talking about especially when you tried to make a full blown analysis of the graph, DISREGARDING the tonal balance of the pinna and lower-midrange sections. You can't just say LUSH and...

Vocals too forward? Man, either you never listened to it or you merely graphed THEN listened to it for a short while.

I'm using these particular drivers on my own MX500 Build. It's basically the 300ohm version of the popular 120/130LCP. Stock form, it's a warm non-fatiguing listen but with some easy tuning you can increase the pinna gain abit and turn it into something of a better reference pair, although...

Can't suggest colored foams. The dye on those kinds of foams are not washed well so it might stain your ears with a lil bit of sweat (and also staining the white finish of your earbuds!). I suggest washing and drying them first before using but that might be a pain to some so I'd just go...

Welcome to the DIY rabbithole man, glad you took the plunge. If you think the prebuilts wasn't deep enough, try glossing over drivers, tuning materials, shells, cables and even SOLDERING. :joy:

Qian and Yincrow is something I wouldn't really recommend if you want an earbud that would make you "listen to the music as the musicians intended", they're just really good for chill and fun listening sessions. I really think K64 legitimately comes close when it comes to that + thin foams...

I would suggest buying a bunch of the cheapest because the price-to-performance ratio of earbuds are insanely good. I would start with K64, Vido/Traceless and FAAEAL Iris Ancestors so you could start with some wide variety of signatures for those three, it should cost you less than 20USD for...

Uwah, the DIY Workroom circle started appearing. Gotta post some of my work too~ DIY Workroom "H-F" 500ohm These Elfinear 300ohm> high impedance drivers are a pain when it comes to shaping its pinna gain. It really needs to be choked. After months of playing around on and off, and with some...

    Final STUDY 1

Through joint research with Dr. Kazuhiko Kawahara, Graduate School of Arts and Engineering, Kyushu University, we have discovered the physical characteristics that make it easier to hear the voice. The result of this research is "STUDY 1", a learning earphone that enhances "concentration" on the...

ZiShan U1 HiFi USB DAC+AMP Thread

This is very true on my AKM U1 that I turned into J1, which is the earliest version. You'd still have to plug and unplug it after some time. A bit of a pain for some, but it's a drawback I'm willing to have.

ZiShan U1 HiFi USB DAC+AMP Thread

Open up your U1, desolder the 2 wires that connects the battery pack, find a 2 pinhole marked "J1", make a short by connecting those two pinholes together in the back of the pcb and voila! You got yourself a USB-powered U1.

Haha! The reason why I rarely post here is because I learned how to make my own pairs. Almost two years in with no regrets :) I almost forgot that I had an earbud roundup blogpost. I'll be updating it with new earbud models, and a bunch of stuff I observed on FAAEAL models, specifically the...

They're also doing OEM driver manufacture work for some big earbud brands like VE, FAAEAL and Ksearphone (early versions of their earbuds). If you opened up a Snow Lotus and a VE Monk Plus, you will see the same PCB from the 64ohm drivers that are sold thru Elfinear's AliEx website. They used...

Earbuds will inherently leak sound just from the way how it sits from the ears, and factors such as volume level can contribute to it.

Who knows? It might be possible, and I don’t see the reason accommodating those market adoption variables when it can start small to a community like this thread has. With the tools for graphing getting more accessible to the budget-minded, it would be at least helpful to set a target curve that...
