Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]
Agree. It's great to have the possibility to squeeze out a bit more fun out of my rather neutral SEM5. It's a fantastic headphone to look into the mix, but with an addition of 6db to the bottom the fun is catchy as hell. Paired with the R28, you'll have even more fun driving whatever is plugged...- Chris Kaoss

You can cover the tip of the screwdriver with electric tape, this should give you the grip needed. For such critical screws, we used to take diamond paste, which acts like an interlock between the screwdriver and the head of the screw. Maybe something like hand wash paste made with walnut shell...- Chris Kaoss

Beside all reported issues about the device, a big shout-out to @FiiO for contributing so heavily to help out and fix the issues. It's not that common to have fast responses from the MoT. Thanks a lot for all the advices helping people out.- Chris Kaoss

Best Smartphone for audiophile Part II (Updated: Jan 2020)
That's really mad, to deal with a faulty device and don't get the support from the vendor. Yes, as an owner (and user) of the Alpha6400, there was no way around. :) I like to fiddle around with the settings.- Chris Kaoss

Best Smartphone for audiophile Part II (Updated: Jan 2020)
No issues with my Xperia 1 mk3 since 3 years, except the damage I've done to it. ^^ The weak link is the battery, ime. Soundwise it is really good, but hasn't enough power to drive lots of headphones to loud levels. Can listen to my FD7s with volume nearly maxed out without. Not in any way a...- Chris Kaoss

I second this. Maybe it's a bit of mental bias ( for sure it is  ), but I've yet to find an amp/dac that mess up the sound out of the Era-1. Guess an unsuitable amp like my TA26 tube (for my VO) will screw down the quality. ^^- Chris Kaoss

What is the headphone that you will keep forever and never sell?
It'd be my Quad Era-1 for sure. Not my first "audiophile" headphone, but the most enjoyable bc it works wonderfully with all genres I listen to. :metal:- Chris Kaoss

@jonathan c Are you jumping around with the Aeolus while listening? ^^ Or where are the vibrations coming from? The CD drive? Isn't the Audio lab damped well to eliminate the self introduced vibrations? No offend, just curious questions. :)- Chris Kaoss

Audio-Gd R-28 impressions thread
Wonder what dedicated devices out of the AGD line up could replace my R28 at a reasonable cost factor? Well, there should be an upgrade anyway. ^^ Not that I want to replace the R28 in the near future, but still curious about the options. Imo, it's the best option to drive nearly all...- Chris Kaoss

Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆
It's not that uncommon to choose a "hotter" line out. My dac/preamp is at 2.5v/ 5v. Well, 2v would still be better for a wider volume adjustment range on the amp itself. It really depends on the use case. But some manufacturer chooses this to achieve a "better" sound out of the box in...- Chris Kaoss

Seems there's a bit hit or miss in a low percentage range. Bought mine in July 2019, with extended and heavy use I've no issue so far. Fingers crossed. :fingers_crossed: Happy listening once u can get your hands on a new one. :)- Chris Kaoss

Yes. Even as a preamp, the R28 will hold its value with a clean and transparent sound, at least with my active floor standers. :) Can't ask for more in that regard.- Chris Kaoss

Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆
I do agree. The Mojo has a unique sound signature for sure. Coupled it with my Audio-GD Dac/amp to my active Elac floor standers and it sounds pretty good. Never tried to connect the Mojo to my speakers directly bc of the missing remote. But as a dac ,with a preamp (for volume adjustment) to...- Chris Kaoss

Can't say it exactly, but since the FAW cable is in use, there's no flaw to it. Maybe my right ear had more wax in it, I don't know for sure. ^^ But after my measurements, my little OCD was triggered almost all the time. So it has to be the cables fault, you all know what I mean...- Chris Kaoss

Very interesting. Could change my mind on the 7200 as the only closed back to add to my possession eventually, besides my PM-3. ^^ The Monitor 5 is on loan to my younger brother, for decades maybe. :)) Thank you for the insight. Will keep my eyes open to try a new one soon.- Chris Kaoss
