That depends very much on the head or earphones you use with them. Low impedance and high sensitivity IEMs (especially balanced armature) suffer from the noise problem. get an Ifi IEmatch and the noise is not a problem anymore, dynamics are also improved. IMHO a must have for any IEM

hmmm for me that does not work. It will just output the sound through the integrated speakers of my phone. Maybe I am doing something wrong in the order of opening the apps? How would you exactly go about it?

So until now I've always been using UAPP with my DC01. Does anyone know how I can make it work with other apps, like Google Podcasts app, Spotify, etc. ? I can get sound output with Chrome app for example but not with others. Any ideas? Thanks!

If you don't need native dsd and dsd 256x then don't. I'm sure they'll bring out a new firmware upgrade soon

I read this too but I am using it with an adapter all the time. No problem so far. Depends on the adapter I guess. Some are just rewired adapters, other I belive include a capacitor to prevent shorting out.

Yep, I've seen that. I am really pleased with the DC01 however. There was some trouble with native DSD decoding and stuff but now it works really good for me with UAPP and Audirvana Pro. Just wish it had less hiss with my sensitive balanced armature IEMs.

Yeah I've see that one too. My choice was between this one and the iBasso. Chose the iBasso for the price.

The Ibasso definitely works with screen off. Maybe try disabling any power saving features for the music app you're listening with.

Okay so I wanted to adapt the 2.5mm balanced output of my iBasso DC01 with an adapter to use it with my other headphones which have fixed 3.5mm cables. It makes sence that shorting out anything is not a really good idea of course! I ordered this adapter here...
