iFi audio GO Bar - The Best Pocketable HiFi System, Bar None!
Thanks for getting back to me. I noticed that when I plugged in to my macbook pro and my android tablet. I've now turned on the turbo mode to drive my Final E5000 with delicious bass and dynamic using the 4.4mm output. It's a really nice little gold 'nugget' I would say. Not really a gold 'bar'...- ashleydoormat

iFi audio GO Bar - The Best Pocketable HiFi System, Bar None!
Hi all, I just got my Go Bar gold and am wondering what's the default volume when I plug in to a new device? I don't like the fact that I cannot see the current volume on the device and don't want to be surprised by a full blast volume whenever I plug in to another device.- ashleydoormat

AUDIOSENSE in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
I'm only using the copper cable that came with the iems and spinfit cp360 I have around for now and I have not encountered much fatigue or hot trebles. Then again I'm used to the DT1990s' sound so I'm not overly sensitive in this regard. I'll try listen to some bad recordings later (which I...- ashleydoormat

AUDIOSENSE in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
I agree that ranking iems can be murky business. As a consumer I'd just average the opinions from various people's impressions, take into consideration of price, different measurements, aesthetics, availability, build quality and customer support to choose my iems. My price range is always...- ashleydoormat

PASS DIY Headphone Amp - WHAMMY
Nice work there Allan! 15V is most definitely cooler than my 22V. I'm thinking of changing the transformer to 15V/18V to run cooler as I don't need that much voltage swing. Did you fabricate the wood yourself?- ashleydoormat

So does that mean higher current class A or A/B is better for planars like the Arya? How much current is enough? My diy Whammy has 60mA bias current which can be adjusted.- ashleydoormat

CRCRC Linear Regulated 24v PSU
Looking neat! My Whammy is burning in now. Just finished it over the weekend and it's sounding great! I think that has a lot to do with a clean power supply. It's my first serious build so I just watched the video by the designer who talked about how the caps help effectively eliminate ripple...- ashleydoormat

DIY Cable Gallery!!
My first two attempts at diy cables during this past month. There's another power cable I made but it's hooked up to my subwoofer and I'm too lazy to take it off for photo. The Opamp thread
It's a pretty basic 6j1 tube amp available on Amazon and Aliexpress for about $40. It originally came with NE5532 and tiny caps which sounded congested and incoherent. Then I changed to OPA2604 and also changed out some of the caps to improve the bass and soundstage (put them under the board as...- ashleydoormat

Nevermind I returned both the Muses01 and Muses03. The packaging doesn't instill any confidence that they're genuine JRC products. Besides I also got a Sparkos SS3602 op amp and it's been working beautifully in my cheapo chi fi amp!- ashleydoormat

So I'm completely new to op amp rolling. I just got two Muses op amps from Amazon two days ago and I'm thinking they might be fake? I only listened to the Muses01 op amp since yesterday and it isn't that great comparing to what I currently have (OPA2604AP) in my chi-fi 6j1 tube headphone amp...- ashleydoormat
