Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones

The latest 5k firmware update has *thousands* of different profiles, specific to different headphones, from the Auto EQ project. See https://github.com/jaakkopasanen/AutoEq/tree/master/results for details. (I’m not sure if all of the master DB is in the 5k or how often it is updated.) This can...

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones

I have the 5K (feeds the Hyla’s 😅). I don’t like to change EQ although, which is the whole reason for the “Cipher” BS. I could give it a try. Have recommended EQ settings?

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones

I can’t really tell a difference between my iSine10 (lightning v2 Cipher) and my newer LCD-i3 (BT v2 Cipher).. They sound about the same. Very uhh, unique separated sound presentation, and to be polite, not very energetic. There is also a flat spot in the treble. My “reference” is a Hyla TE5B...

You mean “just a bluetooth dongle”? 😉

    I've a Qudelix 5k, will Cayin N3Pro make a difference?

I doubt it — or rather, the difference in sound quality will be entirely subjective in nature. Why do I doubt it? First, the 5K can reach up to 4 Vrms in balanced mode (2 in SE); and second, the MEST doesn’t need anywhere near that much power to drive well. Having a dedicated amp unit is not...

HD800, has anyone done a wireless bluetooth conversion?

The 800’s aren’t notoriously hard to drive. How about a Qudelix 5K? It is claimed at 2 Vrms SE or 4 Vrms balanced, which should be more than ample headroom.. and good “clean” sound and BT range / stability. Also, very light with a good clip, such that it could even be mounted to a headband...

iFi audio GO blu - Super small. Super light. Super Sound.

As I just got up from the couch in pajamas, I am reminded how useful and important a good clip (such as found on the 5K, not the ES100/W3) is for a truly portable BT receiver is.. Unless there are *exceptionally good* SQ reports, this alone will prevent me from purchasing a Go. Hooray for a...

That’s — sound characteristic comparisons — are largely what reviews are for. There really isn’t a “good” official answer if they are not identical. :santa:

Even if true, such is irrelevant to the original issue raised and it sounds like all-to-common handwaving away or presented information.

Looking for a UM MEST MKII — and specifically a MKII, as I’m interested in the upgraded bone conduction and housing changes. Cosmetic blemishes or missing accessories are okay if reflected in the price. Must ship to CONUS. There have been several sold in the past few months, so pricing should...

Shanling UP4 & UP2 - Bluetooth 5.0 DAC/AMP with ES9218P, balanced output, supporting LDAC, HWA LHDC, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, aptX and AAC.

My experience with RECEIVING, AAC is honestly “the best” on iPhone for music. Used it with Q5s and iPhone 6 SE all the time. Using UP4 with iPhone XS now. AAC might affect the UP2 battery life? (Not sure!) Anyway, since AAC doesn’t use more “physical bandwidth” than SBC, the connectivity...

    The Qudelix-5K thread

How does the Q5K sound like the ES100? How does it compare to UP4? I don’t like the ES100 sound, so I got a Q5s which has the (‘thick mids’?) sound I really like. However, the Q5 is broken and now I have a UP4. Except the UP4 sounds how I remember the ES100 (‘thin’?), and UP4 configuration is...

[New firmware] New added global MQA support, the new firmware for M11/M11PRO/M15 is now available!

Why so opposed to an OPTION? (Or even suggestion to an option..) Should all (computer) mice all have the primary button on the left? Or should all mice Y-axis be “up”?

    Tri-brid IEMs and non-BA/non-DD technology

Me as well. Unfortunately the “mid-fi” segment seems all but abandoned. Or has been pushed up due to $4-6k ‘TOTAL’ IEMs. Given the closing sentence, not sure why ‘Chi-Fi’ is called out.

    Tri-brid IEMs and non-BA/non-DD technology

    1. PayPal work on AliExpress. I generally avoid AE (and many products on Amazon) because I like product differentiation. 2. It’s no more of a “sin” than the markup charged for IEMs by many ‘premium’ brands, especially when using commodity comportments. Let’s not even get started on cables.. but...

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

I can believe a visual preference being imparted by pictures. Have you listened to both IEMs? Or is that “bet” also based on images? Or is it based on price and ‘new factor’? Or is it based on a specific (comparative) review? Then, go back to what a fence symbolizes in such a construct...

What a narrow sighted defensive reply. There was never mention of “at cost”.

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

Why “bet”. Should it? WHY? Does it? HOW? Or really, in which ways does it sound DIFFERENT? And for what purposes/preferences is such more suitable? IEMs these days are chasing circles: every fence has greener grass on the other side, as long as it’s a newer / more expensive fence..

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

Rolls eyes. Stupid “audiophile” markup games. Ask where the cable was sourced and how much/foot for the raw product.. because I’m pretty such EE doesn’t run the factories to produce these cable cores using some secret material.

Shanling UP4 & UP2 - Bluetooth 5.0 DAC/AMP with ES9218P, balanced output, supporting LDAC, HWA LHDC, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, aptX and AAC.

aptX LL (Low Latency, not normal or HD) is the only “guaranteed real-time” BT codec, although SBC can come close-ish depending on implementation. Implementation matters a lot (with SBC) and seems hit or miss as it’s quite a “flexible” protocol.. with lower settings generally having less latency...
