Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide
Thanks a lot for the photo. I changed the impedances with the jumpers of the MKII but there is no difference between them if I hear with my HD800 and Grado GH2. The max. volume if I turn the poti are 1-2cm. Not more. Otherwise it is too loud. What’s wrong? My source is a cd-player but I can’t...- Moak

Little Dot 1+ vs MK2 or other tubes
Does anyone have experience with the Little Dot 1+ and the Little Dot MKII? Do they sound identical? I have an MKII and it's fantastic. I do a bit of tube rolling and listen a lot with an HD800 and a Grado GH2. Does it make sense to buy an LD 1+ as well? I've read that Burson offers opamp...- Moak

Do you mean the two bottom screws on the front and back plates? Or do you mean the 4 screws on the bottom that hold the rubber feet!?- Moak

In this case, the MKIII is not identical to the MKII because, unlike the MKII, you don't have to open the case of the MKIII.- Moak

Ok, I answer myself: It looks like they are the same tubes (see screenshot). Maybe the quality of the Russian tubes is a little better... Does anyone have other experiences?- Moak

Could it be that 6N6 (chinese) and 6N6P (russian) are the same tubes and that the 6N6P is no upgrade to the 6N6 ?- Moak

Thanks for the info. Does it make sense to replace the original 6N6 tubes with 6N6P or better 6N6P gold grid or is that unnecessary? Today I bought Voshkod 6ZH1P-EV for the standard 6J1 driver tubes.- Moak

Is it necessary to replace power tubes? Is it enough to just use good driver tubes? I am currently using the MKII with stock tubes (power tubes 6N6/driver tubes 6J1).- Moak

Thank you. Yes, I know the site... but for me the ranking is not how I feel about the headphones I know. Headphones are a very individual thing… Others' comments are just hints, but we have to test everything ourselves.- Moak

The GS1000 is purchased to an other person, now ….but I purchased the RS1x 😊 I’m very curious…which from both sounds better for me (GH2 or RS1x) ….but they probably sound very similar and I'll have to look for a GS1000/i/e/x.- Moak

Yes, the GH2 is a very good headphone. Better than any Grados I've heard so far (including The Hemp). It's a question of whether it's worth buying a used GS1000 or Rs1x...if the GH2 sounds similarly good and there isn't much of a difference.- Moak

Thanks for the info. So, there isn't necessarily a better Grado, just a different sounding Grado!? I already had a few Grados (SR325, GW100, The Hemp, The White, GH2)…. The only Grado I kept was the GH2 because I like it best. I can buy a GH1000 quite cheaply and am thinking…. I just don't know...- Moak

Why do you think the GH3 is the worst of the GH series? I own the GH2. I already had some other Grados. For me the GH2 is the best of them. I don't know the GH3, GH4 and hemp.- Moak
