creative has stereo direct which is kinda neat

Indeed,the AE9 is great, all creative top end sound cards from the titanium HD to the Ae9 are great For me though,The ZXR is more revealing with the same opamps setup, having more weight to the sound.

Everything that involves amd cpu/gpu brings trouble, that's why I'm staying away from ryzen, benchmark don't tell the full story,how everything works like crap.

Does anyone know what's the difference between the green and the gold caps used in the zxr? Early revision adopted gold ones while new ones adopt green.

let me save you some time and money....the ZXR is a class of its own...the AE9 sound too much synthetic, restrained compared to the ZXR, the AE9 sounds lifeless compared to the ZXR. with the same set of opamps (philips 5532AN, signetics 5534AN) ,the ZXR mops the floor with the AE9...especially...

Currently running zxr with philips5532/4an and quite happy with it, wondering if any of those two will make a difference.

The Nu audio pro does seems more music focused compared to the AE9 which is more for gaming. Decisions decisions... A real good comparison between them would have been great

Regarding the signetics,the older the better,the older the date,the warmer the sound,less digital,more analog tube like sound. As for the AQ and SQ that doesn't really matter.

If you don't have the money go with upc4570 from nec only or signetics 5532 from 84 if you find any. If you have the money go for orange opamps like I did.

I gave it about 20 hours of burn in. Usually I run all my music files through the night and during the day while I'm at work. Still I didn't notice any change between the first and after 20 hours of playback.
