I am going to recable the K702 with a HD650 cable. The AKG K702 has a male 3 pin xlr plug on it. Is it okay to assume that one is left, one is right, and the last one is ground? I will be use a meter to test this.

I know why AKG put bumps on the K701/K702! They wanted the user to tilt the headband further back which holds on better than a flat headband. The tilting of the headphone offers much better sound. It basically sounds similar to a K1000 to me.
