AP80 - Hidizs next portable Hi-Res music player
Interesting. Started getting issues with BT streaming over LDAC between my Samsung S8 and my AP80 after a security patch. After upgrading OS to Android Pie, LDAC BT streaming between S8 and AP80 are working fine now. Anyone else using a Samsung S8 encounter this issue before?- Winterheim

AP80 - Hidizs next portable Hi-Res music player
That's the same dilemma I have when considering selling mine off to cycle around hobby funds. Hidizs basically abandoned all their AP80 customers. Maybe after they realized they released a flawed product and they could not keep up with the shipping and product complaints, they just turned their...- Winterheim

The silence from Hidizs is annoying. Especially when you see them hawking their other merchandise on social media.- Winterheim

Radsone EarStudio ES100
From what I've seen in the settings, there's a battery saver setting that only allows up to 80% battery charge on the device, especially when it gets plugged into a power source to preserve battery life.- Winterheim

AP80 - Hidizs next portable Hi-Res music player
That's new. At least for me, that's the first time I'm hearing about the clock reset whenever the device is plugged into via USB-C. But the erratic audio playback has happened to me before. When I did upgrade to 1.0.1, it doesn't happen on the device itself. But the LDAC bi-directional streaming...- Winterheim

The real Tingo TC200 (which is shown in that image that you've included in your post, and is also seen in the TC200 review here in head-fi) is already discontinued. Now there are online stores that sell the "TC200" but is using the TG-38S shells (chrome). I can't recall where I read it...- Winterheim

Radsone EarStudio ES100
I do love the ES100. Maybe if there are any changes I'd look forward to, it's a larger battery, premium build material like an aluminum unibody to add a bit more weight to it, and metal/sturdier 3.5/2.5mm jacks. Personally, I don't see any value in adding some form of independent playback...- Winterheim

AP80 - Hidizs next portable Hi-Res music player
Because of the flawed implementation of LDAC support on fw1.0.1, for some reason, after my Galaxy S8 stopped being able to properly stream audio to the AP80. The AP80 keeps forcing LDAC even if I had already turned off LDAC (on the paired devices menu of the S8) and "High Quality" on the AP80 BT...- Winterheim

AP80 - Hidizs next portable Hi-Res music player
My understanding here is that you want to do this: BT Headphones <----BT---- AP80 <----BT---- Smartphone That wouldn't work, or at least there is nothing inside the AP80 that allows this to work. First, AP80 doesn't appear to support BT5.0 to allow being able to connect to two devices...- Winterheim

That photo (and the product itself in Aliexpress) appears to be the same as what is called the "Tingo TC200" in other online stores, but it really looks like the Tingo TG-38S.- Winterheim

Indeed. I don't understand why the BT streaming failed altogether after the Samsung S8 security patch was upgraded. It was working absolutely fine prior to it. But then when I use it on a device that doesn't support LDAC, BT streaming works fine.- Winterheim

Unfortunately that still didn't work for me. Unpaired on both ends. Re-paired from S8 to AP80. Didn't work. Repeated process from AP80 to S8. Still didn't work. How they implemented LDAC just messed things up. Anyone know how to roll back firmware to version 1?- Winterheim

My smartphone's firmware got updated and all of a sudden, bluetooth streaming wasn't working anymore with the AP80. >_< Trying to fiddle around with bluetooth settings to see how I can get it to work again. AP80 - Hidizs next portable Hi-Res music player
When I'm in the office, my DAP is usually near a USB port so I haven't really gotten around to trying out the full extent of its battery life. AP80 - Hidizs next portable Hi-Res music player
Found a flaw in this firmware's LDAC streaming implementation. LDAC streaming is invoked regardless of whether the High Quality toggle is on or off in AP80's bluetooth settings. I can also confirm that bluetooth streaming goes beyond SBC now. So we can at least strike that off the list. When I look up the AP80 among my paired bluetooth devices on the Galaxy S8, there is now a toggle for LDAC.- Winterheim

The resume option is only to the specific track and that part gets reset when you plug the device in to access the SDcard. :( I was hoping there would be a setting where on the four-icon menu, the user can change the default to be "by Album" rather than "all Music".
