Dang it! I just found out about this and I can't make it. How often are these held? Is there a way to get notified?

Nano 5G not working with line out cable

Wow. That's really frustrating. The one in my car I made myself (needed a really short one) and Mrs. Gnome's is just a cheapo from CablesToGo. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to fix mine up since I super glued the connector together but at least I know I'll have to make a new one...

Nano 5G not working with line out cable

I did some searching around but couldn't find an answer to this one. My wife just picked up a Nano 5G but when we try to hook it up to our car stereos using a dock to mini cable, the sound just comes out of the iPod's internal speaker rather than going through the line out. Is the pinout...

Sennheiser HD 580 Cable is TOO LONG!

OK... So I'm listening to Roger Waters - The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking and about halfway through 5.01 AM there's this wooshing sound that goes from left to right. I actually looked up to see what it was before I realized that it was part of the song. Sweet!

Sennheiser HD 580 Cable is TOO LONG!

I just got a Sennheiser HD 580 last night and I'm loving it. Only problem is that cable is just too freakin' long. What have other Head-Fiers done to solve this problem?

    Very exciting thread!

Battery life is a little bit shorter than Alkalines, but the nice thing about NiMH is that you can recharge them at any point without having to run them down. I have rechargable batteries that I bought 5 years ago. After 100s of charges, they still run strong.

    Very exciting thread!

I'm not too particular when it comes to battery brands as long as they are NiMH. Chargers do make a difference, though. Make sure you get a "smart" charger, one that senses when a battery is done charging rather than one that will charge for a specific amount of time, regardless of how much it...

    Networking question

If you do things in binary, it's a little easier: Let's say your IP address is 192.168.0.1 and your subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. If you convert these to binary, you get: 11000000.10101000.00000000.00000001 11111111.11111111.11111111.00000000 The 1's indicate which portion of the...

    Networking question

A subnet mask of 0.0.0.0 would mean that all IP addresses are local to the machine. Since no address would be calculated as being in a remote subnet, it would broadcast all traffic to the local subnet and never send it to the router. In short, the machine would only be to access hosts on the...

Under Consideration: Beyer DT770 and HeadRoom Micro

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I think I will go for the Stock DT770 and the HeadRoom Micro. It sounds like it will be a good combination and will fit my needs (for now, of course).

Under Consideration: Beyer DT770 and HeadRoom Micro

"If you have the funds I think you should go straight to the Darth Beyers(long wait though)" I have the funds... Not sure if I have the patience . Do the Darth Beyers isolate more with the wood covers than the stock covers? I really don't want more isolation. I was also wondering about...

    What drove you to/away IEMs

I dropped a lot of money on a pair of Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5Pros and then even more on getting custom molds because none of the foam or rubber ones provided a good fit. Even after all that, the only time I use them now is while exercising. It's probably the worst money spent in audio for me...
