    I connect my Onkyo DP-X1A in this way to my xCAN. When you do this the xCAN is solely an amp, with the DAC in the player doing the D to A. If you go bluetooth between the two, then the DAC in the xCAN does the conversion before amplifying the signal. It only functions when bluetooth is used...

    I installed the Hiby player on my DP-X1a last night. Not as adjustable as the Onkyo player with the little tweaks offers, but I think it definitely sounds better, feeding BGVP DMGs balanced. And it's free....
