Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

This reminds me of an occasion back in the late ‘70s when I worked for HMRC here in the UK and was part of the team responsible for testing the London Airport cargo import systems which were based on an ICL System 4 computer and used drums for data storage. Which gives an indication of how old I...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Having taken the time to read the very brief thread, only two people reported issues and neither stated that their devices caught fire. It’s always worth remembering that those who don’t have any issues rarely comment whereas those who have issues often make it seem like it‘s a big deal.

I also attended the Genesis Knebworth concert and have photos to confirm this. However my first concert was five years earlier which was David Bowie at The Town Hall in Birmingham during the 1973 leg of his Ziggy Stardust tour.

My Denon micro system, my Cyrus CD transport, my Naim Uniti and their relevant remotes each have a shared play/pause button as well as a combined ffw/next track button. I cannot recall ever having a separate pause button on any CD player I’ve owned. The only devices with separate pause buttons...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

My first concert was probably David Bowie shortly after Aladdin Sane was released. In my younger days (the early ’70s) I also managed to see Yes, ELP, Greenslade, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, Refugee and Rick Wakeman amongst many others. Most recently I have seen Marillion, Phil Collins (on his...

How about this: They said there'll be snow at Christmas They said there'll be peace on Earth But instead it just kept on raining A veil of tears for the Virgin birth I remember one Christmas morning A winters light and a distant choir And the peal of a bell and that Christmas Tree smell...

I also have class D amplifiers, in my case mono Hypex Ncore NC400s in black cases each machined using CNC from a solid block of aircraft-grade aluminium. They sound very, very good. And yes, the power switches are on the back. As Bruno Putzeys designed, they also only connect via XLR cables. But...

It is my understanding that the original sketch was written by Messrs Brooke-Taylor, Cleese, Chapman, and Feldman which is why Cleese and Chapman were happy to re-use it. Barry Cryer appeared in the original sketch as a wine waiter.

If you can get to north London then AudioGold is worth a visit for both vintage hifi and vinyl. In central London go to Sister Ray in Soho for vinyl only. Both have web sites.

Yes, the city of Leeds is in Yorkshire. I went there once and once only for a meeting. I doubt I’ll be going back.
