Size of SA6 in-ear?
Hellow there fellow head-fi'ers and ofcourse the Sleek Audio Crew . I am currently thinking about getting some new IEM's since the 3.5mm-connector-housing of my Aurvana's is loose and slowly getting even looser (damn you ultra-tight 3.5mm jack sockets). I am now considering either the Shure...- Sir Nobax

DT-990Pro for 160 Euro, a bargain?
I have been thinking about the DT990's to replace my DT550 for some time and suddenly, today i saw a DT-990Pro for just 160 Euro. How do they compare to the new DT-990, as Pro makes it Pre-2005 right? I do not know how much ohm and age/model though.- Sir Nobax

What would YOU like to upgrade in your PC/Audio rig?
Well because most of the threads in f=59 are "What should I buy?!" posts, this looked like some fun for a change. What would you like to upgrade in your current PC as Source rig? Anything PC / Audio related allowed! Okay, i'll start . First i want to upgrade my videocard, to...- Sir Nobax

Why isn't a Soundcard powered by the PSU's 12V rail
When i was reading all kinds of things about DIY amp's it became clear that a amp performs best when near the maximum voltage, which would be around 18V (36V for both channels) for most op-amps in that class (IIRC). A PCI slot can provide +3.3 and +5 Volts, where both rails can output around...- Sir Nobax

EMU 0202/0404 or Something else ? ?
Well after my long journey through the DIY forum I landed up here. I think a little story will make it easier for you guys to understand what I want. At the last head-fi meet in the Netherlands (organized by Digitalmind) I had the opportunity the listen to a Tomahawk with my...- Sir Nobax

LM6171 as CMoy buffer?
I was wondering if the LM6171 would be a nice buffer in the CMoy design, or won't it do the op-amp justice. (or is it simply not possible) (yeah i also asked for the TLE2426, but that will be CMoy Jr. ) The Buf634 is like €10+, while the LM6171BIN costs me € 4,45 (ex. 19%) so easy choice...- Sir Nobax

TLE2426 or Dual 4.7Ohm Resist.'s?
I am still figuring out how I will build my first CMoy, and as I dont know if the 20-40mA current will be enough to please my Aurvana's. (42 Ohm, sensitivity of 115dB / mW) Should i create the virtual ground by a TLE2426 or should i use the usual 4.7KΩ Resistors? And I am curious if using...- Sir Nobax

CMOY component question, will it work?
Hey guys, In the upcoming vacation (next week for me ) i want to do a little project. And because i now dislike the sound of my Creative Zen Vision stock (got spoiled at a meet with a Tomahawk) i thought what the heck, let the Cmoy building begin! I've heard quite a lot about the Cmoy...- Sir Nobax

Mini Meet Maastricht June the 3rd 2007
Well as this was my first meet i was quite impressed from beginning to end. I didn't tried every headphone, on purpose, so i have a good reason to go to future meets. Except for the "must-hear" headphones at the meet, i mostly tried the ones i always wanted to try, the HD-25, two Ultrasone's...- Sir Nobax

Photo-Fi - first lens advice (choice of three)
In just a few minutes i am finally going to order my Pentax K110D . But due to a price raise (€20,-) i cannot get the stock Pentax 18-55 along with it. Having in mind that the shipping (from Luxembourg) will take around 1-2 weeks i have enough time to get a cheap "kit lens". The first...- Sir Nobax

Pentax K110D 18-55mm Kit lens: A good starting Lens?
Hey there photographing headfi'ers! I was looking for a not too expensive manual focussing Dig. Camera, as i really love to do the focussing myself. However, this didnt work out i guess, the only convincing camera was the Fujifilm S9600, i saw this one for €390,- and i was quite satisfied with...- Sir Nobax

Searching for: Classic (Instrument) + Trance\Dance Combined
Hey everybody ! ! I am a huge fan of music wich combine Instrumental "classic" music with the modern sound of trance\dance. I'ts kindof hard to explain but i have uploaded a sample (small uncomplete, low bitrate, 'not-copyright-violating' version). Its "Barock Me" by Ray Burton and his... -
Searching for inexpensive Manual Focus Dig.Camera
I've been looking fo a while for a Digital Camera with manual Focus. And since most head-fi'ers have more hobby's than Audio only i guess some of you are also into photography. The camera i'm looking for should'nt be really expensive, so no DSLR's for me . I dont have the need for lots of...- Sir Nobax

Lossy Audio Codec's Comparison [HUGE amount of pics] [iTunes UPDATE on p.7]
Since the day i started 'listening' to music instead of 'hearing' it i'm worried about the quality of lossy codecs like MP3, AAC and WMA. Every time i hear a song i wonder if it is really how it has to sound, because of the loss of data in the compression. Of couse i could A-B every codec but...- Sir Nobax

Am i the only one who doesnt like the K81 ?!
Call me strange but i really dont know why everybody think the AKG K81's are great headphones! IMO they are very bass heavy, undetailed, they have an enourmous lack of high-mid's and total absence of tones in the upper spectrum. They completly sound unbalanced, especially with music with...- Sir Nobax

Super.Fi 5 EB or Super.Fi 5 Pro
Well hello to everyone, this is my first post in the most expensive forum i've seen. As my first attempt on killing my wallet i'm wanting to buy some higher grade In-Ear's then i am using now, the Creative EP630 (sharp cloner) and the Sony MDR-EX71's. I liked both but there's always...- Sir Nobax
