Good question – it's the 2019 16" MBP (Intel i9), running Catalina 10.15.7. It's a work computer so I can't upgrade it yet to Big Sur. But it was working fine until the firmware update (I think, at least, hadn't used it for a few weeks).

I think more extension and sound stage, if possible. This might sound dumb, but I really enjoy 8-wires and their heft, so I'm really just trying to justify a reason to get an 8-wire (I have a Janus D for my Phantoms and love it). Budget is $1500, less is better of course.

I previously owned the Zeus-R and didn't find the bottom end full enough (at least, now compared with the Phantom). It sounds like the Valk might be a good option as a sharp contrast from the Phantom, both offering different perspectives on the music.
