You're very welcome! I've become a big fan of theirs due to their quality and very fair price. Glad I was able to help make your MD+ experience just a little better :dt880smile:- mwillis

Massdrop PLUS Universal IEM
Hey what a coincidence, a year ago to the day! I can still safely stand by the 64 Audio Professional Cable. It's what I've been using with my MD+ almost daily for (apparently!) over a year. I'd tried a few others before 64 Audio's and honestly nothing comes close to the look, feel and sound. I'd...- mwillis

Best sub-$150 portable DAC/amp for sensitive IEMs
The Da2 sounds great at lower volumes! I definitely prefer going through the Da2 during quiet listening because if I go straight through my Note 9 the hiss becomes more noticeable on my Massdrop+ IEMs. But with the Da2 it's super smooth and very pleasant. The Topping and Da2 both sound great...- mwillis

Best sub-$150 portable DAC/amp for sensitive IEMs
The Sabaj works great with my Note 9! I haven't been using it a whole lot because although there are ever so slightly blacker blacks with the Da2 there are no other major differences in the sound as opposed to plugging straight into my phone. I have kept it though because it is definitely a very...- mwillis

MFi Lightning to Micro USB cable?
Quick question for you. I purchased this cable and it doesn't work for me... I'm wondering if I selected the wrong option. I selected the default "Micro USB to Lightning" option. When you bought yours did you select the other "CZY Micro USB to Lightning" option that added $10.90 to the price...- mwillis

Massdrop PLUS Universal IEM
Thought I'd throw another upgrade cable into the fray for you guys if you're unhappy about the stock cable. I didn't have any problems with the sound of the cable or anything like that, but my connectors were loose and I'd find that my IEMs would come unplugged from the connectors every now and...- mwillis

Massdrop PLUS Universal IEM
Since the X5iii has an output impedance of <1Ω you should not noticed much background hiss, if any. It seems like that's the sweet spot for these IEMs, although it's hard to say for sure since I've used them with a source with an output impedance of <1.1Ω (FiiO E17K) and noticed a very faint but...- mwillis

Massdrop PLUS Universal IEM
I also found the included foam tips rather large. Usually I'm medium all the way in foam tips but I used the smalls out of the set that were included. I had some spares of these laying around and the mediums were perfect for me, so I'm sure the smalls would work for you. EDIT: For what it's...- mwillis

Massdrop PLUS Universal IEM
That sounds promising... I'm sure the <0.4Ω output impedance rating keeps the blacks pitch black? No doubt that it would but figured I'd ask since you have been enjoying the combo firsthand, getting rid of that ever-so-faint hissing is my priority #1 :) I also opted for the Null Audio Brevity...- mwillis

Massdrop PLUS Universal IEM
Just received these a few weeks ago and need a little help in figuring out how best to drive them. Thus far I've been using a Fiio E17K with a source of both a laptop and phone with decent results, but I do get some very faint buzzing in the background through this. I ordered a Shanling M0 DAP...- mwillis

Are there any other DAPs you would recommend over this for under ~$200 USD? This thing checks all my boxes but I just want to make sure I'm getting the biggest bang for my buck. It will be driving primarily Massdrop+ UIEMs, so output impedance <1 ohm is absolutely the biggest requirement.- mwillis

DAP Recommendations - Fiio or Hiby
How about the Shanling M3s DAP? Same DAC as the Q5 so I'm sure the sound will be just about the same. Only negative from what I can find is the battery life which doesn't seem too great compared to other DAPs (~13 hours unbalanced, probably measured with MP3 rather than FLAC, but your mileage...- mwillis

Best sub-$150 portable DAC/amp for sensitive IEMs
That's fair. Considering I got both the Topping and the Sabaj/SMSL (same thing) I think I'm planning on using the Sabaj only as a backup in case I get stuck somewhere and my Topping dies or something, depending on how they stack up against each other. Although to be honest, if they sound similar...- mwillis

Best sub-$150 portable DAC/amp for sensitive IEMs
I actually am close to pulling the trigger on a Topping NX4 DSD, I could get one for $126 brand new through eBay with the 15% off deal they have going today. It has an output impedance of ~0.5 ohms, which would be perfect for my MD+ IEMs. EDIT: Well I just spent $200... got both the NX4 DSD and...- mwillis

Unfortunately there is some hiss with my Galaxy Note 8 because my Massdrop Plus IEMs are very sensitive. If I could get rid of that, I'd be content (as far as my mobile setup is concerned).- mwillis

Best sub-$150 portable DAC/amp for sensitive IEMs
After scouring the Internet all morning I've come up short and haven't been able to pull the trigger on anything. To set the stage, I just bought the Massdrop Plus Universal IEMs, which are very sensitive with an impedance of 10 ohms. I have been driving them with a Fiio E17K on my desktop...- mwillis
