I have the Ferrum Erco with my Utopia 22 and wondering what gain setting I should use? The 0 allows me to turn the volume up to about 1/2 way before it's too loud; The -1 allows me to turn the knob up to 3/4 way; The +1 allows me to just 1/3 way. BTW - got my 4.4mm/XLR adapter and now I'm on...

It's more that it just makes sense that assuming the expensive cable's internals are what is giving it the improved/changed acoustics - so wouldn't the last 10% of the wire now being a much cheaper adapter mean that your'e essentially negating the benefits of said expensive cable? Not looking...

Also, as a followup question: if I use this "cheaper" 4.4mm/XLR adapter with a higher end headphone cable I may buy in the future, doesn't that negate any benefits that the higher end cable would provide to the sound since the adapter would be connected on the end? Reason I ask is I don't see...

Yeah, I guess it's all about compromises in everything including appreciating music quality to the max. I shouldn't complain. I'll likely just stick with my current speaker system setup for critical listening rather than trying to upgrade speakers in the main room - I can just go there to do it.

Hmm... it sounds like a waste of the RME ADI-2's excellent parametric equalizer to not use it.
