Pen-Fi (FPs, RBs, BPs, etc...) [56k Warning]
Repair Question: I have a Shaeffer fountain pen that I'm quite fond of and which recently lost a piece of the sleeve connecting the barrel to the nib mechanism (see below). Any suggestions on repairing options? Thank you in advance.- JefferyRW

Pen-Fi (FPs, RBs, BPs, etc...) [56k Warning]
TwinQY, I'd like to thank you for the utter abandon and passion with which you share your observations and insights, particularly regarding ink. As a fan of Iroshizuku inks, I found your descriptions accurate and informative. Your comments on other Japanese inks have provoked me to look...- JefferyRW

On a mission to like jazz
After you sort through all that astounding and absolutely essential music, give this a ponder. -
What book are you reading right now?
Denis Johnson recently moved on from this incarnation, but his last book (below) is a wonderful testament to his talent, vision and humanity. His novel Tree of Smoke (highly recommended) won the National Book Award in '07. His work (particularly Jesus's Son and Already Dead) reveals an...- JefferyRW

Guitar-fi anyone?
When I was seventeen and had NO money, I bought a '72 Les Paul Deluxe for $210.00. I refinished it natural as a high school project. Got disenchanted and drunk and sold it for a '55 Gibson B-25 which I later sold and you know how the story goes....I still look for that Les Paul on various sites...- JefferyRW

Thanks for the suggestions. I've been down the endless Naim highway, as I mention above, but will look into the other brands you mention.- JefferyRW

Teddy Pardo HPN
Having weaned myself from the Naim blackhole, I now power my music with what seem to me comparable Teddy Pardo amps. However, despite currently having a tube hp amp that meets my needs, I'm interested in whether anyone here has experience with Teddy's HPN? I'd like to have options. If not this...- JefferyRW

Loading FLAC files in Pure Music
Am I alone having difficulty loafing FLAC files in Pure Music? I have any number of stalls and shut downs simply trying to listen to stored files. I wonder if another approach might be less of a pain in the nether regions.- JefferyRW

New Member Introductions thread
A belated Introduction: I'm Jeffery and I'm a recovering audio-enthusiast. Relevant to this thread and site, a short time back my long suffering AKG K501's pleaded to retire and so I came to Head-Fi for advice. First, I'll point to the obvious: this is an invaluable resource in helping...- JefferyRW
