    Question on amp for HD 650's

    I'm considering the possibility of replacing the excellent hd 650s for the 650s. Is it worth the upgrade or shouls I wait and get a pair of hd 800s? I previously owner the hd800s and I do miss that marvelous sound stage.

    I was dead set on getting the I basso dx200 but now I'm reconsidering the Sony Range. Its simply the balanced output which I doubt I will use causing me to be indecisive but right now I'm considering three to four 4 high end DAPS. Will read through the entire thread at some point!

    I did replace the tubes in both the wa7 and wa7tp, I believe there was a thread on here where a guy reviewed all sorts of tubes and I picked the top choice he recommended. I wasn't disappointed! However I did have my wa7 stock with The Electro Harmonix Gold-Pin tubes and loved them to pieces...

    HD 800s were awful with a solid state amp but once I paired them with the warmth of the wa7 and wa7tp it really tamed the sound. I rarely used the hd800s otherwise but tubes were meant for those cans! heavenly vocals!
