PC microphone input noise
I've had microphone problems on my PC for years. At first, I thought it was a PSU issue, then a room noise issue, now after some testing I think it may be due to something about the computer in general (perhaps the PSU). I tested the same microphones (MEMS headset mics and an electret...- FireDragon76

earphones that fit
I am looking for an alternative to the Panasonic Ergo-Fit earphones. These are the only earphones I have tried that actually fit my ear canals. Everything else doesn't seal well or is uncomfortable with frequent use. Unfortunately, Panasonic's Ergo-Fit earphones don't have great sound...- FireDragon76

headphone calibration
For years I have been trying to calibrate headphones or equalize them to sound relatively flat. Years ago I used a Radio Shack SPL meter and just placed it against the earpiece of a on-ear headphone, and that worked OK, though not great. Recently, I got the idea to try an in-ear microphone...- FireDragon76

looking for information on koss UR23i and UR42i headphones
I'm looking for some frequency response measurements for newer Koss headphones like the UR23i and UR42i. But mostly all I see is Sennheiser stuff... Koss does not seem to get alot of love.- FireDragon76

headphone with no bass in one ear?
I have a Status CB-1 I was given for free. It has no bass in one ear. We looked at the electrical wiring and it appears fine. Could it be a damaged driver?- FireDragon76

open vs. closed: value
My impression is that open-back headphones just aren't as good a value for the money as closed-back headphones? Does that play out in your experience, as well? I have used mostly inexpensive headphones over the years (less than 100 dollars), but I've also listened to some more expensive ones...- FireDragon76

how do the older walkman type headphones compared to over-ear open backs?
I own several headphones, mostly closed-back types. I do however, have a Sony MDR-210, which is similar to the on-ear headphones that were popular in the 90's for hooking up to portable music players. They have 30mm drivers, and the sides of the driver enclosures have small ports, so they...- FireDragon76

harmon kardon and diffuse field curves and video games
I've been doing alot of reading and youtube surfing and became aware that alot of headphones have elevated bass and treble relative to the midrange, the theory being that this will sound more like a loudspeaker listening experience in a typical room. However, it seems to me this could be...- FireDragon76

headphone stands and clamping force?
I watch Z Reviews and one thing I noticed is that one of his headphones seems to have widened somewhat from sitting on foam yoga blocks for so long. I do not have enough experience with full size headphones to judge so I was wondering if this also reduces the clamping force on the head- my...- FireDragon76

help with headphone: Sony MDR-210
I got some replacement foam pads from Amazon today, and I put them on some old headphones I had lying around just to test them out. I put the headphones on just for kicks and listened to some music with them and I was shocked by what I was hearing . Music sounded great through them. I thought...- FireDragon76

how many people use crossfeed or dolby headphone?
I have been using headphones a long time, mostly inexpensive on ear headphones (Sennheiser, later Panasonic RP-HT21) or earbuds (Panasonic Eargonomics). I prefer listening to headphones using some kind of acoustic simulation. Usually Creative CMSS, Yamaha Silent Cinema (on my receiver), Dolby...- FireDragon76
