Great condition, plenty of extra tips and replacement filters. The shirt clip is broken (it hasn't come apart but there is a crack in the loop part, possibly fixable with glue).- skumrat

When I enable 'oratory1990' autoEQ preset for my earphones, what target is it EQing them to? Harman In-ear target? It doesn't seem to specify. Also, how come I lose a fair bit of loudness when applying EQ?- skumrat

I convert my 16/44.1 FLAC collection to Opus for mobile use which is natively 48kHz. I assume this is good enough to avoid any unnecessary resampling if both Android and the Bluetooth audio system detect 48kHz (Q5K seems to default to 48kHz as well), even without using UAPP? I know apps without...- skumrat

I changed to 5GHz and it worked! Now adaptive bitrate actually scales up and down according to Qudelix app, usually fluctuating from 492kbps to 660kbps, and occasionally hitting 990kbps. Went back to 2.4GHz and it stays pegged at 330kbps at all times. Didn't know WiFi could interfere so heavily...- skumrat

Any way to get LDAC 660kbps working always by default on a Galaxy Note9? Only once I go into developer options and manually change the quality to 660kbps then bits per sample to 16 or 24-bit (has to be done in that order; bits per sample seems to reload the BT audio service, which allows the new...- skumrat

Sony IER-M9 impressions thread
I've switched to the Sony hybrid M (from ML) and they seem to work much better. After breaking them in for a day they achieve a vacuum seal like the ML, but not as strong, so I don't seem to get the clicking sound but they still stay in my ear reasonably well. I know the spiral dots are good...- skumrat

Sony IER-M9 impressions thread
I agree, it does become uncomfortable after a while (probably due to pressure build-up since the IER-M7/M9 is a fully sealed design) but it's also the only thing that allows them to stay in my ear. Without that vacuum seal it just falls out constantly and I'm left with what is basically a very...- skumrat

Sony IER-M9 impressions thread
"because the outer sleeve is seperated from the cable itself and slightly sticky" I immediately noticed this as I was inspecting the cable when I first got my M7 and while I thought that was the culprit at first, what with the play/looseness caused by that construction, in further testing I...- skumrat

Sony IER-M9 impressions thread
Have you guys noticed a clicking sound in sync with footfall on the M7 and M9 (both my M7 and M9 have this problem)? I think I have confirmed that it's due to the looseness/play in the MMCX connection. Very audible while walking, during quiet parts of music. It's much more in the right side than...- skumrat

Sony IER-M9 impressions thread
I got my M9 finally after having the M7 for a couple of months and the M7 definitely sounds smoother, or at least more laid-back. More upper mid/treble detail on the M9 which gives it more of a sibilant quality (but it is still NOT a sibilant IEM in my opinion -- it doesn't cross that line that...- skumrat

What's the difference between the M7 and M9 cable? They look identical but the M9 cable is slightly more expensive. Also, would it be worth getting the Z1R cable at all? Does it have nicer build quality or something compared to the M9 cable?- skumrat

What's the issue people are having with UA2? Mine has been working perfectly. The UA1 I did notice is very "slow" in that it fades in every time you switch a track or something.- skumrat

What aftermarket eartips are closest in sound, size, shape and fit to the stock ML tips? It doesn't look like the Sony tips are for sale anywhere which is a shame, since the ML fit like a glove for me.- skumrat

My 4SR sounds fine out of my Note9, can't tell a difference between it and the UA1. UA2 does sound subtly better but I'm not sure if it's placebo and without an ABX rig no way to confirm for sure ¯\_(ツ)_/¯- skumrat
