Can't speak about Jesus, etc. I was listening to Wilco Schmilco earlier, though, utilizing the HD58X Jubilee's and can honestly say that the album has never sounded so good (I finally got my dac/amp hooked up to run with the headphones as well).

Mine are well over 4000 and have no issues with the grills being rough at all.

You're thinking about it all wrong. Sennheiser has been hired to make these headphones by Massdrop. If it weren't for Massdrop, the headphones would never exist.
