What are the other two nearby, @Mshenay ? I'm probably as close to those as I am to Charlotte and if I can make a second one, it'd be great.- ebiester

I forgot to put the other important stuff - basically any weekend before the end of the semester works for me, and I'm coming from Wilmington. I'll bring the above.- ebiester

I'm interested as well, though I (still) don't have that much to bring. (Elex, Monoprice m1060, dt-770) - I may just bring the Elex in case someone is interested in comparisons and come to hang out. If someone expresses interest in hearing lower end gear for comparisons, I can bring it. :)- ebiester

I have Focal Clear and Elex... Which One to Keep?
I'll be a bit more pragmatic: You will make more money selling the clear, but the clear will hold its value better. If you enjoy them equally and you don't see selling them down the line, just keep the elex. If you still enjoy the Clear more and you don't have immediate need of the money, sell...- ebiester

The New AEON 2: It's The End Of MrSpeakers
1. If I'm reading that correctly, the A2C looks like it's efficient enough to be driven off of a phone. Am I misreading that? noise cancelling aside, this feels like it would be good on a trip. For anyone who has heard it, can they mention how the phone experience is? 2. More imporantly, if the...- ebiester

What are the headphones with the flattest response?
You're absolutely right that EQ is insufficient to do all of that. The total project involves learning more about digital signal processing than I can do in the short term, so I think of it as a first step to get my feet wet and understand the limitations of what can be done with EQ. After that...- ebiester

What are the headphones with the flattest response?
This is an odd request, I know. I'm not looking for a set of headphones that sound good but rather the flattest frequency response. (Ideally, these would be relatively inexpensive - say, under 300 used.) Why would you want this, you ask, especially if you have something like sonarworks? Well...- ebiester

CAROLINAS CanFest 7 SUNDAY March 31st, 2019
I'm planning on attending. I'll be bringing an elex, an m1060 (possibly modded), a dt770, an Atom, but my source game isn't great. (My source is a desktop and I don't have a laptop or DAP. If nothing else I'll bring an ipad with tidal/GPM and some music.)- ebiester

Is the JDS labs atom end game amp?
I have the Atom. It's a very good amp and will drive a 250 ohm DT 770 (my hardest to power) sufficiently. Other reviewers say it handles just about everything just fine. I'd suggest saving your money and if you're going to pick up an expensive headphone later with particular needs, only then do...- ebiester

Carolinas 2018 CanFest 6 Impressions
It was great meeting all of you! Some highlights from a "newbie" listener: Other than the Stax 009s (OMG), the one that I remember most is the Focal Utopia. I swear I remember someone bringing some Clears - I thought it was Mshenay but I don't see it in his gear list right now. (It has me...- ebiester

Carolina CanFest 6. 17FEB2018. 10-1500. Concord, NC. CFD Station 7
Quick clarification: it's the 770, not the 1770. It's also the monk plus that you linked. Also: no guests, and I'm coming from Wilmington, NC.- ebiester

I hope I'm not too late! I live a few hours away (Wilmington) but I'm just saw this, and I'll be trying to make this. My own collection is limited (Sennheiser momentum v1, m1060, DT770, monks, and a Fiio e10k). Is that worth bringing?- ebiester

If you were to do it all over again, what set of gear would you go with?
Howdy, folks, I'm Eric, and I've been wandering in budget-fi for far too long. After a series of sub-100 dollar headphones (grados, sennheiser px 200s, some free beats solo, and the first gen sennheiser momentums, among other wanderings) I finally took the plunge and bought some DT 770s (250...- ebiester
