Thanks @zach915m fair enough; I knew pops were reasonably common but that spooked the hell out of me; in the five years or so I've had other tube amps I've had a few minor pops but absolutely nothing like that. Re ten minutes to warm up - I assume you're saying don't plug in the headphones for...- RMarks271

Hi everyone, A while since I've popped in here - a mixture of lockdown throwing most things out of whack, but also due to me quite honestly using the Verites almost every chance I get. However, just had a slightly terrifying experience with my Pendant and wondering if other owners (or...- RMarks271

To echo everyone else, Zac and Bevan were amazing throughout the order and delivery process - which convinced me I was ordering with the right people. Re wood - FWIW Zac is happy to accommodate any request (within reason) for your cans. I also didn't love the lighter silkwoods, so asked for a...- RMarks271

Interesting - I don't know whether an up-scaling device is really what I'm after, but if it works for you that's all that matters. I just read about it, and I'm a fan of Chord.- RMarks271

Sorry for thread-diverting, but I've looked without real success elsewhere on Headfi and thought there might be some wisdom here - I'll keep it short and if anyone wants to direct me to the correct thread that's much appreciated. With HDTracks in the UK closing recently, the main retailers for...- RMarks271

Interesting. I'm just getting to know my VO's - had them for a little over ten days - and the dip is definitely noticeable. Not in a bad way - I'm just very sensitive to vocal presence, so I definitely hear it. However, the VO is so, so, so good that rather than change pads or EQ it to balance...- RMarks271

Sending hi-res audio over the internet
This may have been discussed elsewhere but I can't see it. It also is (hopefully) a simple yes or no answer! If sending or sharing hi-res audio (192/24 etc) over the internet, using tools like WeTransfer or Google Drive - do the recipient's files exactly match the originals, or are they in some...- RMarks271

Oh I'm completely down with that, but for a £2,500 investment I wasn't taking any chances. This is what I'm talking about: Are you saying running them for 300 hours would cause no problems?- RMarks271

I'm burning in the Verites at the moment and just came across a website saying that it's bad form to run the headphones for long periods at a time 24 / 48 / 150 (!) hours at a time, and to give the drivers a chance to rest. Is there any truth in this? Zach?- RMarks271

So a few *very* early thoughts on the Verites. I've had them up and running for about an hour - no burn in time at all - and all I can say is I was sat with a stupid grin on my face the entire time. I listened to a couple of tracks I know intimately (New York State of Mind, Billy Joel; The...- RMarks271

At long last, they've arrived! There have been many post about the beauty of these headphones by writers far more eloquent than I, but I will simply say this: Until seeing these in person, I didn't honestly believe that a piece of electronic equipment could look so much like a piece of art. intersting - to be honest I haven't actually checked other tubes in that socket to determine the culprit, but as Zach says, so long as it all works I'm a happy man.- RMarks271

Zach thanks very much that's perfect. The three front tubes all sit very snugly in place; but the back one (EZ81) is quite wobbly, it certainly is in the tube holder but it's loose - is that a problem?- RMarks271

Thank you for all your replies. I have a (probably quite stupid) question. My shipment arrived today (very excited, photos to follow ASAP work permitting) - it all looks great.
