It does have roll off in the treble that makes it sound less full. But it does also have alot of detail and somewhat similar tonality. I said that its more like the Aeon especially vs the PM-3 which sounds nothing like the Aeon and doesn't even have the same sound signature.

Something with the lowest possible output impedance. These headphones are very sensitive to output impedance. Topping NX4 DSD just came out. I'd check it out as the specs are really awesome and Topping makes very stable products.

The warmth is solely the output impedance mixed with your headphones. This unit is basically the definition of objective reference, use it with an o2 or some other ~0ohm output impedance amp and you will see what I mean.

Well yes and no, people prefer tube amps but they do sound worse in terms of details in many cases.

I love mine, but they have a flat sound which really isn't engaging and I understand how some people don't like that. However the Aeons are better at basically everything, but thus headphone is unique in a combination of comfort and sound quality and power requirements.

open it up and check the parts out. It could be a counterfeit or defective. How does it appear in Windows? Also mine does not have a hi-res audio logo on it either.
