Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Just going off the power consumption vs power output posted on the website, it looks to be a little less than half as efficient as Vidar but more than twice as efficient as Aegir.- dmckean44

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Congratulations! Insane as always. When I was reading the chapter I was expecting it to cost a lot more. You had said four years ago that such an amp might be in the $2500 territory. The one question I have that the chapter and FAQ do not answer is how much heat does this thing put off?- dmckean44

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I started with cassettes and moved to CDs too, but I got into records in the late 90s because you could buy crates full of records at garage sales for like $5-$10. In the pre-streaming era, that was some amazing value. I probably wouldn't get into it today as it's expensive to build a decent...- dmckean44

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
@Jason Stoddard I opened searched all the Sol threads around the 2-channel forums (Steve Hoffman, Audiokarma, Vinyl Engine,etc..) and they're all asking about the effective mass of the arm so they know what cartridge to pair with it. Someone also asked if this table has clearance to play...- dmckean44

Well, if you do end up doing a Freya++, I think HT bypass and an effects loop for Loki would be a good place to start. Those are the only convenience features that would make me consider switching away from my Saga 1.- dmckean44

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I don't actually remember how I first stumbled across Schiit but I remember browsing through the DACs on the website and being amused by the FAQ sections, I think it was before Yggdrasil launched. But what got my attention was the announcement for their entrance into 2-channel. I couldn't...- dmckean44

I know the court decisions on this stuff were in the early 2000s. But you don't really have it that bad, imagine being C.F. Martin & Company and having to change your label after 175 years of labeling Made in the U.S.A when literally nothing has changed.- dmckean44

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
These are all valid things to worry about. I mean, transitioning from a start-up to a small business to a medium sized company in the span of a decade or so is pretty brutal. If Sol really takes off you might just have to move it offsite and treat it as it's own thing just to keep things normal...- dmckean44

I don't disagree with any of that but you're always going to be judged compared your peers and Schiit is very good at marketing. Just because you don't have to do it everyday doesn't mean it isn't a large part of Schiit's success. Plus, we know from reading your book how important aesthetics and...- dmckean44

I think you're taking the term a bit too literally, Schiit is definitely a marketing driven company and should be proud of it. I can think of a lot of marketing driven companies that make great products. Schiit reminds me a lot of Stone Brewing. Stone spends almost zero on traditional...- dmckean44
