NEW - Campfire Comet and Atlas
Well a few things. Unless you wear them over the ear the weight will likely cause them to fall out anyway with silicon. I personally tried several different tips and settled on wearing them down with comply foams that I already had. Benefit is they stay snug, sound great, and no driver flex...- briman1000

NEW - Campfire Comet and Atlas
The comply are a different material. They are slower to rebound when you squish them to put in your ears and slightly sticky to the touch. You have to hold them in place because they take longer to expand but I think they stay in place better and longer. No idea on sound quality differences...- briman1000

NEW - Campfire Comet and Atlas
Finding that over ear wear is just about impossible for me. The complys are the only tips that seem to stay in for any period of time due to wearing them down and the weight of them. Good news is I like the taming effects of the foam and am really enjoying these for many genre. Keep the tip...- briman1000

NEW - Campfire Comet and Atlas
I think the Polaris is pretty good for the money. I do feel like the atlas adds better much better mids to the mix while improving bass and treble some. It makes it redundant so I put the Polaris up for sale. I got the atlas on b stock and hope to get almost half the cost back selling the...- briman1000

NEW - Campfire Comet and Atlas
Mine showed up today also. Only about an hour on them but first impression was that I had heard some details in a few songs I was missing. I only tried the foams. Will have to try the final tips and the spinfit. Are they in the box or do you guys those separate? If so can someone put a link...- briman1000

Campfire Audio IO vs Polaris
I have the Polaris V1. I think they excel at edm, rap, maybe even bass heavy metal. I like them but got a set of Atlas to replace them because I feel they have the mids a little too attenuated. Dont get me wrong. I think they are high quality for the money but probably not the best choice based...- briman1000

Recommendations: LGV30, Listening At Home, Dinosaur Jr, $400 Budget
Hopefully I will catch Dino Jr or Jay live one of these days. Best I can hope for is that he comes through the college town I live in now one day. Also people including myself recommend stuff we have tried and like. That's like .005% of the stuff out there and based on your tastes as close as we...- briman1000

These guys are on the right track. The Philip's or sennheiser are great and you could add a audioquest red or black for more power. I run my red out of my Samsung s9+ and it runs all my headphones. those are open so make sure they work for you If you need a closed semi portable one of my...- briman1000

can dynamic really compete with 5 driver BA IEMs?
I find this interesting because I have been reading many reviews searching for a newer iem. I was out of the hobby since the ue superfi days and only really into over ear stuff. Bought a noble x off Ebay to try it and it's ok. Dont need tons of isolation and not impressed with the bass it...- briman1000

What should I buy? ~$300 flexible
You can get NAD Viso HP 50 for like $140 or so on ebay brand new. Very hard to beat for the money and they used to cost twice as much. They sound excellent with the music you describe as I have them and listen to to similar. Read some reviews. They are closed and comfortable.- briman1000

Schiit Jotunheim Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV
You can't guarantee an opinion. How something sounds and whether it sounds better than x is an opinion. I bought the JOT with built in DAC because I felt that it was a good value for what I was getting by a company that will stand behind their warranty if there is an issue. I will probably never...- briman1000

Need Closed back headphone recommendation. Great at noise rejection. For home use with Jot amp. Also good Bass but not overpowering. Very comfortable.Thanks.
Well I was almost decided until I just checked email and there is a new fostex th-00 drop starting. Any thoughts compared to the el8 and pm3? I think I narrowed down to those 3.- briman1000

I keep reading the newer el8s are better than the older ones. I wonder if that's why they were selling the refurbished late last year for $350.- briman1000

So between the el8 and the pm3 what do you think? I can't justify the new price on the el8s but used they are about the same as the pm3s. Which is more comfortable? I think the oppos are a lot lighter. They could be used portably too which is a bonus I guess. I am narrowing it down.- briman1000

Does anyone know which has more isolation between the EL-8 and the Foster TX-00? These seem similar based on reviews and in the forum it seems either can be had for a similar cost. I have never owned a non-dynamic headphone so leaning to EL-8 just because. Currently use either my Philips...- briman1000

The EL-8s sound like a real possibility. I wish they still had that refurb sale going on like before Christmans. I had considered the Foster TH-610s also.- briman1000

I need a headphone for home use that will help me study while listening to music and will help drown out my children and household noises. I have several open back phones but need something quality that is closed and does a great job at isolation. Comfort is very important. Also I would like...- briman1000

If you had $1500 to spend, what would you buy?
Ok, I will bite. Focal Elear. Solid all around. Audioquest nighthawks for something different to round out your 'collection'. Neither are heavy. You are in no mans land with your budget. That is why I put two. LCD-X are too heavy for you.- briman1000
