I would like a Susvara because I am a huge fan of high quality headphones, and the Susvara seems to be one of the best out there.- killfire72

The AKG K712 Pro Support and Impressions Thread
Omega stand will ruin the headphone. It will stretch out the elastics for the headband and compress the pads (this is true for any headphone, by the way, that an Omega stand will compress the pads and if it has a suspension headband, will stretch that out).- killfire72

AKG's new K872?
The 812 has a really bad impulse response which would imply ringing in the treble, which according to reviews shows itself as being ear piercing.- killfire72

AKG's new K872?
Does the 872 have the same ringing issues that the 812 has? There really hasn't been much released about this headphone, and it seems extremely interesting.- killfire72

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Nah. For me, the difference is easy to hear, though admittedly very subtle. The 600 is a bit more shouty in the upper mids and has a bit more treble sparkle, while the 650 is much more smoothed out in that region (and to my ears, more neutral, though still not exactly neutral) and has a bigger...- killfire72

The AKG K712 Pro Support and Impressions Thread
K712 is much better than the 650 with regards to soundstage. Every time I want to game, I find myself reaching for the AKG over the Senn.- killfire72

Sony MDR-1000X
ANC works best for droning/humming noises, such as a plane engine or the ambient noise in a big city. Your TV/laptop is going to be playing sounds that are somewhat transient (fast and only occurring once) so ANC wouldn't be able to cancel them effectively.- killfire72

The AKG K712 Pro Support and Impressions Thread
Not a fan personally. I have both the K712 and the HD650, and what I like about the K712 is that it has more treble sparkle than the 650, so when I want that little extra brightness, I have get it with the AKG. The problem is that the Asg2 is a warm and hazy amp and it kills any of the bite the...- killfire72

Could it possibly be... that they're not plugged in all the way? I have the exact same setup (Bif4490 -> Asg2) and don't hear it being anemic either.- killfire72

If the 6x0 pads are worn, AKG by a long shot. If they're fresh pads, it's a tossup.- killfire72

Master and Dynamic MH40 VS. Sennheiser Momentum 2.0
Heck, I would toss in the Sony 1000X. They don't sound as good as the other cans, but the ANC is fantastic. This is just my opinion though, because I don't necessarily consider out and about to be a very hifi environment, so I prefer really good isolation over the absolute best in sound quality..- killfire72

Help/advice needed with connecting AKG k7xx & Philips Fidelio X2's to Xbox One.
If you have a DAC, then run the optical out from the Xbone to the optical in on the DAC. Then, run the DAC to the amp, and headphones go into the amp. The Xbone doesn't do audio out via USB, so it'd have to be a DAC with optical in. The SMSL M3, for example, is $70 (cheaper than the Astro...- killfire72

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions
I was running them off an O2/ODAC on 1x gain straight from the ODAC Rev. B (so 2.10 Vrms). Any time deep bass hit, especially in EDM, a crunchy/staticky noise was extremely audible (during periods where the driver was rattling, not when the driver was working normally) and basically took away...- killfire72

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions
Does anyone know if the bass rattle issue has been resolved on the newer production runs? I bought two DT1770s from Amazon Warehouse, serial numbers 1900-some and 2000-some, and both had bass rattle issues on the right side. I really love the sound of these cans when they're working but that...- killfire72
