I think after attaching an DAC like dragonfly red or cobalt it will show the purple light because mqa decoding happening through the DAC itself not through SR25. I do have dragonfly cobalt and can achieve mqa through it but then what’s the meaning? I can still do the same with my iPhone.

There is vast difference in sound quality of MQA between tidal pre installed app and sideloaded app. I like to listen MQA on pre-install tidal app rather sideloaded. Or if you can suggest which version of sideloaded Tidal app support MQA?

I would suggest you go with xDSD. I have both Cobalt and xDSD and since I purchased xDSD I never touched my Cobalt. First it cause no battery drainage of a phone, second it connects over Bluetooth and third it sounds much better than DFC. But that doesn’t mean that I will let go DFC.

I can bet this sounds much better than Fiio X7 but then there is limitation that cannot use online streaming services on this device like Fiio X7. 

I tried this player last week when I was in Moscow at the store Doctor Head. It sounds I think almost like AK Jr. I just listen for few minutes so can't give exact verdict but could not found any big difference.
